I mostly use tools like these, but the one I use the most is JA4: shop.clay-planet.com/jas---6-wood-modeling-tool-set.aspx

How important with foil paper?

The tinfoil is very important. It helps heat the clay evenly. Solid clay could form cracks or lose its shape.

You leave the foil in the clay, and you don't remove it! Using foil is also great because it bulks up the sculpture, requiring less clay to be used. @@jaurynateralara9522
Why do you have to record it so fast? There’s so much missed when you fly thru
