The Tools & Equipment I use- kit.co/nickpedulla
I figured it was about time I introduced myself. This is my first time talking to the camera so bear with me. It’s going to take a bit more practice until I feel more comfortable in front of the camera.
This Hall Table is made from Walnut and Brass.
The sliding dovetails were certainly a time-consuming part of the build but a necessary step with a design such as this one.
It’s important to note that the legs were also bolted onto the dovetailed frame to ensure its stability. The dovetails alone are not enough to secure the legs. The front bolt (shown at the end of the video) is screwed into the threaded insert located at the front of the leg. There is another bolt and threaded insert positioned at the back of the leg and frame. The hole in the frame has been elongated to help with expansion and contraction.
It may look like there is a lot of wasted material in this piece, but each off cut has been saved and either used as a new section in this hall table or has been set aside for future projects.
I’ve glued the brass shadow line to the walnut top with a simple construction adhesive that specifically bonds wood and metals. This adhesive will allow some movement of the wood while also keeping a good bond to the brass. I used epoxy to glue the brass handle to the drawer fronts.
Ive sprayed the Brass with spray on lacquer.
Standard Questions-
- What glue do I use? Titebond 3
- What finish do I use? Osmo Oil satin

You're doing unique and amazing things on the platform, as with woodworking! Love the explainer at the end, it would be great to get descriptions of your notable builds in this format. It makes the build just that much more meaningful and helps your newer woodworking audience understand why you did things the way you did.

I grew up in a cabinet-making environment myself, and am just starting my own woodshop in my early 40s as a hobby shop. Your work is inspiring, and your video skills are on point. They clearly communicate many of the design decisions you make in your projects. The ends/legs with the grain matching had me questioning the strength of the piece, until you cut the dovetails. When you cut the matching pieces, it all made sense. You found your calling in life early, and the work you do is stunning. Thank you for introducing yourself. It's nice to meet the artist behind pieces that will be handed down through generations.

Yeap same opinion here. It tops the attention to detail of Keith Johnson and the design is better thought through than Sawyer design. And video is all about the work process in detail as if we are right next to him in the workshop just like Kobeomusk.

I appreciate your humility, but don't let this get in the way of getting your fare share. From now on think of a sale figure and double it, at least!! Your wealthy clients will just love you all the more. At the end of the day it will be their offspring and their offspring's offspring, infinitum, who will be the real winners and they won't know you or your offspring from Adam! Your pieces will become the heirlooms of kings and queens. Have faith - your KZread audience has spoken!!

Your work is always so incredible. It was awesome seeing you talk in front of the camera. The explanations on the joinery methods you used is a HUGE help for us newer woodworkers. The sliding dovetails to help stiffen that thinner leg area and also prevent cupping... I was saying "Holy $H!T that is brilliant."

I for one would definitely love to hear more from you about your builds, why you are doing what you are doing, etc. The whole time I was wondering "why is he doing the dovetails like that..." then you explained it, it made so much sense. Would love to see more of this!

You designs are really great. I love it. The minimalistic design but with the accents of copper or gold leaf makes it truly fantastic. Well done

That was incredibly impressive, you are creating art and an imagination like the pulls you built, I’m so in awe from watching you carefully and accurately create that beautiful table! To have talent like that I’m sure didn’t come easy but some of it is a gift! By the way, the music was awesome, love that kind of music.

Your work is a true inspiration. I finished a carpentry education when i was 18 (28 now) and did quite some different things after that, but i did get the oldschool way of woodworking taught. Lately i’ve been thinking about starting my own works when i finish building my garage. So what i’m trying to say is that the way you treat your projects is something i one day want to be ablo to do to. With passion, patience, safety and joy!
