The best way to keep from smooshing bits, is to bake things in layers! Make small basic shapes (smaller than you want the finished thing to be) then add the defined shapes onto the dried clay (bake and bond is recommended for that) or doing the body, baking, arms and legs, baking again, head, so forth! ^^ Love your work ^^ your voice put my dog to sleep 😂

Hey Rin, I’m a potter so I LOVED this video. Ok so I throw pots on a wheel and sculpt with clay that’s fired in a kiln, but I still use sculpey for making mock-ups of larger sculptures. The tools you’re using are called ‘loops’. I use them to create texture on my pots surface. But they are also used exactly how you’re using them. I use the silicon-ended shaping tools as well because they are fabulous! You did an incredible job!! Absolutely wonderful 🎨💜🐾🥰
Thanks for inspiring me, Rin! You inspired me to draw more, number my sketchbooks, and have fun with my art! Thanks for always putting a smile on my face :) keep up the outstanding work!!❤️

The bunnnyyyyy!!!! 😍😍🤩🤩 I just can't!! And the sweatshirt! It looked like something my mom would knit! Beautiful!! I loved this so much! There may come a day when Rin will cease to amaze and entertain us... but that is NOT THIS DAY!! (If anyone doesn't know, that line "there may come a day when..." came from The Lord of the Rings. No, Rin will never cease to bring joy to our "humdrum lives" [from Singing in the Rain]). 😆😁💙💙 To any who reads this... have an awesome weekend!!
"Grab your eyeballs" Did I mention I Rin is hilarious?
“Kill it with 🔥!” 😹😹 I love how you take on all these new art tools. Your sculpture came out so cute. Your dedication to the sweatshirt design deserves all the credit. Drawer becomes a scluptrest.
She is so creative she can LITRALLY do anything she just has to believe herself and she can do it I love her!!!
for future sculptures, you can partially bake sculpy and then keep working with it. sorta like saving when you work digitally
I love sculpting! I've been working on my own polymer clay project recently, its so satisfying to make something recognizable from nothing. A tip; you can bake multiple times! Like saving your progress on a digital work, you can bake the project partway through and keep sculpting on top :)
I'm Polish, and OBSESSED with that kind of pottery, and safe to say I'm OBSESSED with this bunny
You can bake them as many time as you need, so you can still add bean toes. He’s adorable!
He looks so cuuute! Also witty and wise. That was some effort you put in there and it really paid off!
Hi!!! You asked if we liked this kind of art video??? Well let me tell you what I think of it… IT WAS TOTALLY AWESOME!!! You are so talented and one of the things that I appreciate of you is how you let us see all the steps you go through no matter if you have to redo the steps more than once. I really really appreciate your honesty and your giggles when you describe your process. I am learning how to draw and sometimes I get so frustrated with myself when I can’t achieve something even after multiple tries. But as soon as I listen to one of your videos I get out my sketchbook and start drawing again just for fun. You put me in such a good mood, which means less pressure and this translates to usually me being able to draw what seams impossible the last time I tried. So thank you for being so transparent and showing us that even if you are an artist you struggle to sometimes. You are the best!!!
oh Rin why are you so amazing?!!!! You always have so many adorable creative and fun ideas. Your process of making art is just *chefs kiss* , never stop. 💜

Emma!! I'm so happy to hear that. You have no idea. I feel the same way about art, and i can feel it missing when I havne't drawn in a while. I really hope its something that can continue to bring you that joy for the rest of your life. 💜💜💜💜
Work in layers and bake in between to avoid it getting smooshed. Then, to get it smooth, you sand it (unless you like it not entirely smooth). I would also do the paint in thin coats. I learned this the hard way on a couple of my sculptures. Hope this helps! I enjoyed this video. 9:57 Oh no. Reminded me of the time my roommate sliced his arm cutting toward himself. At least you aren't holding the project in the air like he was lmao (it was also cardboard which requires more power so you see how that went south).
I’m polish and have a plate that is that exact design like the hoodie. If that’s the look you were going for, you nailed it! Keep up the awesome work!
This bunny is the cutest bunny art I think I’ve ever seen omg plz put him somewhere really nice we’re people can appreciate your work and his beauty ❤️❤️❤️
I still cant believe I have been following you for 2 years now! I got inspired from you to sketch drawings and use your sketching designs as my own! Keep up the outstanding drawings waffles! Thank you so much!
I probably would have lightly sanded it before painting it, so that it took the paint better, but overall you did really well. I think it’s absolutely adorable and I loved watching you create it. I’m going to make my fiancé watch this to convince him to sculpt with me, so thank you for that as well. I recently found your channel and have been practically bingeing your content. I’m really glad I found your channel, it’s help inspire me to get back into drawing and other similar arts, so thank you for being great and having such fun content! 💗🧚🏼☺️
This was so fun. And the bunny looks really cute. The design on the t shirt makes it look kind of like an icelandic sweater. As for the little beany things on the paws. If you really wanted to, you could just get a bit of air dry clay and add them with that. But make sure he is able to stand up still. And as for having to redo the detailing. Well, I am not an expert sculptor myself either. But I build my sculpture from inside out in the order of the force required. I does make it hard to remember what is where. But the mental exercise of planning where things go and how saves a ton of time for me. Its kind of like prepping and planning for cooking. Like if you plan it, you make it in an hour. If you dont you could be making the same thing in 3. Detailng and stuff I dont even do till the end. Also it helps that I pick a chonky place and make sure that no matter what I am doing I mainly hold the sculpture from there so I am not smooshing everything. And its very hard to do sometimes lol. But I really liked the whole thing. I did like the way you made the hood. Only I would have liked you to make a few folds before you joined them in the hood shape because clay wont make that. But I thought that was really cool. I like hearing waffles' thought process when she does things. It always makes me wanna try new things out. I never drew human characters, only landscapes, still life, animals etc and watching waffles draw all these characters made me try them out.
I've been watching since 2016 when I was in the 6th grade and now I've just graduated highschool and I'm going into college. no matter how scared I was today at my orientation I knew I'd come home and watch one of your videos to comfort myself❤❤

ahhh bunnies in hoodies, BUT SCULPTED!! Loved and will ALWAYS love your videos. Ive been watching for so many years, glad you’re still doing it!💗
As someone who watches doll makers (HeXtain) and an artist who tries everything (Jazza) having layers is important. Jazza makes the wired sculpture completely then adds the layer of foil to get the shapes right. With HeXtian, he layers, dries, layers the pieces to get them as perfect as human can do. I noticed he also uses gloves and water to along the way to help smooth and keep fingerprints off. Hope some of that helps whenever you do your next sculpture. From what I can see this was so well done and I think using the knife made it more like a wood craving. This also just fit with the aesthetic you drew on the sweater fix even more. Anyways, great video loved the bunny!
"Im a artist a *drawr* to be exact" BWAHAHAHAH you had me crying🤣🤣
Would DEFINETLY buy this fellow if I saw him. You should try more sculpting, it's fun to watch
Gosh!!! This is like the most detailed and cutest sculpture I've ever seen!!!! You're so creative!!! Love ya 💜💜
He's so cuuuuuute!! He turned out beautiful, thank you for sharing this sculpting adventure with us 😍 (If you don't mind random comment advising about sculpture stuff: I can rec 'North of the border', he does a lot of cool sculpture stuff, including suuuper small (I'm always amazed) and he tends to make the wire longer than just the sculpture so he can clamp it between two pieces of wood and hold the wood instead of risking smooshing already finished clay) I hope there'll be more sculpture adventures in the future!
It'd be fun to see you and Ace of Clay do a collab. Your chaos of just having fun with something still so new to you, his expertise, your cutesy style, and his tendency towards the creepy. It'd be a fun dynamic.
The best part of my weekend is cleaning my room and then I go relax and see your videos

He's amazing! You did such an awesome job!! I have been OBSESSED with bunnies lately, so thank you for feeding my obsession 😁💗🐇
Really digging the sculpting. Baked sculpey clay sticks to itself well where you can sculpt > bake > sculpt > bake as long as the layers are not too thick. Excited to see what you do next. Bunny came out really cute!
I'm new to sculpting myself. I bought the nerdecrafter kit and I was intimidated by clay at first but then i worked with it and it came out amazing. I love your cute lil bunn bun 🐇 i wanna make a lil animal in a hoodie now. 🧥
the thing i love most about you, is that you love to make these unique little intricate designs instead of just using a single color or adding basic lines or dots. you have a thought process to your work and it always turns out to be above our expectations. ❤️

also, random storytime, but: it's almost one year ago now that I was really struggling with my mental health. I posted about it in one of your comment sections and you encouraged me to keep going. I will be turning 17 in a week (which is something last year-me would have never thought I would). I pray that you are doing well and I get worried every time you dissappear for a while 😢I know this is a older video but I hope that it finds you ❤ so you know what you mean and do for people!!!!!❤❤❤❤ also thanks 2 surgery a PT I am now walking without a cane and working hard to build back every thing that I lost and I just needed to try to let you know what your videos mean!!!!!❤❤❤❤

If you have a part that you like that you don’t want to be ruined, you can bake as you go. Use liquid clay to attach more clay and bake again when you finish another part. It makes them harder and then you don’t have to worry about having to redo parts you’ve already done because they’re done and hardened ❤️
I’d love to see more sculpting videos! I always love your lion sculpture and this was so CUTE
