I passed up a diving opportunity on a recent trip to Belize. I’ve never done it, but would totally rock that knife. Especially the after dive nourishment feature.

Having carried that knife on approximately 90 dives, here's a few thoughts on it... That spring loaded release works great. Until it falls off. I found myself tangled in some fishing line, reached for my knife and realized only the sheath was there. Release button and knife are located somewhere on Pete Tide II. (Wreck site of Pensacola) As far as that bottle opener, never used it as such. It does however work great as a "wrench" for removing the pin from a shackle on an anchor chain. We recovered many abandoned anchors this way. With that style blade it can be difficult to "brain" a fish while spearing. Not a complaint, as that is not the design. Over all, I really like it and even bought a replacement after ScubaPro declined to replace.

I have been researching this knife for myself but came across few reviews of people (possibly with big hands) that didn't like the very short handle. Quite frankly I'd give up the bottle opener for that bit of extra handle length as i have never heard of anyone drinking anything bottled under water :) I rather open bottles with a cheap cutlery handle or lighter than sacrifice usability and comfort of this knife. I have mixed feeling but might pop in to a local shop and try it out before ordering online.

a couple of useful reviews: - "Great looking knife but such a strange design. Why put a steel edge (hook/bottle opener) on the end of the handle? Uncomfortable to hold and somewhat dangerous to mount on a BCD." - " This is just personal preference. There are 2 main things I didn’t like about this knife. 1.) when you are returning the knife back into the sheath, you’re likely to guide it into the sheath and then push it home with the palm of your hand. The knife is designed with a sharp pointy end on the handle that is not comfortable doing that. I don’t like that. 2.) The sheath is designed so that you have *one* mounting option and *one* only. You can strap it to your leg. That’s it. The sheath does not allow for any other mounting options, like on a belt or piece of webbing, etc. Not a very good sheath design in my opinion. Other than that, the knife seems to be a high quality instrument. I sent it back because of the things I mentioned, however." - I bought this knife to replace an old Scubapro knife that I have had for about 30 years. The steel takes and edge but I don't know how well it holds and edge because I lost it on a dive. I actually lost it because it fell out of the sheath several times at work but was able to find it. Yesterday, no such luck. I liked the knife but, it is not retained securely in the sheath. So my main comment would be that the sheath is inadequately designed to retain such an expensive knife. So I will go back to my Scubapro 32-320 knife" - "My wife bought me the knive for my birthday and it looket amazing. BUT BEWARE...The sheath is way to weak in holding the knife. I lost mine on the second dive. It was no speciel dive - only 4,7 meters and i was not stuck in anything. When the dive was over, The knife was gone. Scubapro should redesigne the sheath"

It handles heat well. Meaning it doesn't heat treat like steel so it will always be just a scrap of carved metal non hardened.

They do make snorkels that automatically close when the the top goes under water so you don’t have to drink seawater 😂

Always have a knife is rule number one for a real man. You never know when a lady needs her sandwich cut in half to share or when something needs cutting. Or opening. Rule 9. That is for slackers. I carry two or three knives daily. White river , bark river , Benchmade , Spyderco.. I would trust a buck knife before I trusted that turd.
