Scuba divers encounter great white shark in Bali
Diving in Crystal Bay, off Nusa Penida in Bali in September 2019 we swam head on into a 5m Great White Shark. Great whites have never before been seen in Indonesia as they are cold water species so it was a strange phenomenon. As a student studying Environmental Management this was an incredible experience, but it does lead us all to wonder what the hell is a Great White doing in Indonesian waters? As our oceans warm, evidence is showing that fundamental ocean currents are being altered so perhaps this video is just the start of misplaced creatures being found in strange territories. Who knows. Or maybe it's always been there and we just got super lucky 🤔😅

@@eddykapasibu7899 It's not scary moment. Sharks are fascinating animals he was just curious and literally the dumbest thing you can do is to just swim away like this. That's the stupidest thing I've ever seen. Swimming away doesn't fix anything He can go like 35 miles per hour. They just made it look like they're a seal that is trying to escape. Sharks can also sense when someone is scared. They could get themselves killed. Those people should never go scuba diving ever. The first thing to not do when you encounter a shark is to not swim away. When someone is attacked by a shark Its 95% just because they're trying to swim away when the shark is like 15 times faster. It would be basically the same if you would try to run away from a cheetah.

The guide seemed to have kept chill but I would’ve told everyone to get very close to each other with everyone having their buddies back to back and set a buoy for the boat to pick us up. And till the boat arrives you can enjoy a once in a lifetime moment with a GW.
If it's happens to you, you might follow severals sharks rules: 1- dont' panic and palm away like this diver pod, if you looks like a pray, you'll be the pray .. anyway he will be faster than you 2- pack all together and face the shark, don't forget that they are curious animal but they also feared about noise and bubbles you do under water 3- do not lost eye contact 4- slowly palm away all together 5- if you feels that your life is in danger because he is too closed, hit him on the eyes or on the nose. They are very sensitive. 6- if you have a scuba stick or a knife, keep it in your hand in case it's turning in dog fight 7- pray for Lord 😅

White pointer sharks are only likely to occur along the outermost periphery of Indonesia such as the southern coast ofJava, Bali, the lesser Sunda islands, and parts of New Guinea. There the oceans can be very deep and great whites can and occasionally do enter these waters. Great whites generally don't like coral reefs, warm water, or shallow nutrient rich seas-- which are the hallmarks of most of Indonesia's marine environs. Great whites like deep, clear waters. So with a few exceptions great whites are seldom encountered in Indonesia. Good thing, too. I don't ever want an encounter with one.

the fact nothing happened shows how sharks are absolutely not maneaters! they panicked, bubbled like crazy, swamm full speed and totally acted like prey. yet nothing happened. they did everything that they shouldn’t so in this situation.
Stay calm. If it would've wanted to follow you, it would've followed you.
Where was it shot in Bali?
if you panic you are simply done

A good moment to practice your shark sign
Couldn't get any stronger proof they aren't that interested in humans. The camera person and they're crew couldn't have been more panicked, unco and complete sitting ducks 😂
5m Great White in Bali?
I’m no expert but would you not swim to the bottom of water and get as close to the ocean floor as possible with the 3 of them looking in different directions also take a spear or waterproof shock stick as some sort of defence
Too many dishes on the menu for that shark to decide
