[SCRUB] Firefly Alpha Launches FLTA005 "Noise of Summer"

Ғылым және технология

Alpha FLTA005, a mission called Noise of Summer, supports Firefly’s Venture-Class Launch Services Demo 2 contract with NASA that serves to validate the capabilities of launch vehicles that support a new launch class and provide more access to space for small satellites and spacecraft. Firefly will conduct Alpha FLTA005 as another responsive space operation, which includes transporting the payload fairing to the launch pad and mating it to Firefly’s Alpha rocket within hours of the scheduled liftoff, compared to weeks in a typical operation.
The Alpha FLTA005 Noise of Summer mission is prepared to launch no earlier than July 1, 2024, 2024. A 30 minute window begins at 9:00PM PST.
NSF will provide Livestream Production Services for this launch.

Morgan's commentary was very interesting and informative. I live in a windy area and henceforth will refer to wind as "non required loading". No doubt someone will give me a strange look and say "What?". Fingers crossed for the next launch attempt.

Absolutely incredible coverage even though this attempt was scrubbed. These two professionals delivered throughout the entire broadcast. Morgan represented Firefly impeccably well all the while Das directed an incredibly entertaining, informative, well organized stream. See you both on the next launch attempt. Class acts!

Wait! Hold on guys, I'm waiting for this in L.A. 😢 What happens in a situation like this? How much later of a date do we reschedule? Does Vandenberg reimburse you for renting the launch pad?

Launch is rescheduled for tomorrow 7/2 at 9:03pm pacific, so same time as this attempt. As for your second question, Firefly is leasing the pad from Vandenberg Space Force Base for continued operations, not just today’s launch attempt, so there is no money transfer involved.
