_YES_ and here’s why: the more detail you include in your videos, the more techniques we can incorporate into our own work. As Chris (HVACR Videos) says, “We bounce off each other.”
I watched the entire 55 minutes while working ☺️

10:47 - You can use this as “Nor-Cal Dave’s TotD” if you want: uncoil your extension from the point of use back to the source and _then_ plunge it in. That way you can’t get bit by a hidden nick in your cord’s insulation (just sayin’). 13:19 - Speaking of Nor-Cal Dave’s tip of the day, notice how he loosened _all_ of the fasteners before removing _any_ of them. This is a best practice for disassembly in general. Whether removing cover plates or taking the top off a semi hermetic, it avoids frustration in tow ways: one, there’s less chance of binding the last fastener and two, gives advanced notice of one that’s hard to remove.
Yes..enjoying the longer videos... good job!

So absolutely gorgeous there!... never been to Cali, but Florida plenty.
I have always held to the idea the more bells and whistles on mechanical systems the more possibility of problems. I am old school and like the more simpler the better. I have seen to many failures of electronic components in hot, cold, humid environments
@notanewbie1718

My feelings exactly. Simplicity. The old school systems run just as well as the new ones. Perhaps the new systems are more efficient, but I really doubt the savings are as great as the claims. It takes so much energy to produce so much work, a physical law that can't be changed.

I don’t do medium or low temp refrigeration much, mainly commercial/industrial hvac, I’ll have to try the flux idea unsweating sometime. I usually replace TXVs on compressor failures and also was wondering why you didn’t test for acid unless the sight glass gave you good indication it wasn’t. Good tips and tricks though. I’d like to get more into refrigeration

Love the flux when unsweating the joints 👍 I clean the pipe with the wire wheel before I cut it, no dirt inside the system

Hallo Dave, ja längere Videos sind besser....wie früher von Jim Pattinato........bleiben Sie alle Gesund!
What type of brazing rod do you use for those? Sil-fos 15?
Does it not matter about the solenoid not being used through recovery
Love the videos. What type of tat is that on your arm. Love your work
Puttin haters on blast lol
Nice job Dave, how long in real time to do it all? Long videos are 👍
Dave just a couple of observations. First why the magnet? You had a manual stem LLS. Second Reclaimed all gas so why not LAC-4 180? No insulation on that suction line😂😂 Haven’t seen a liquid line heat exchanger in a while. Video is good.
What is nerd protection?
Great job Dave, I like your longer videos! One question, do the compressors come with the compressor oil already in it or do you have to top it up yourself.
@NorCal-refrigeration

Why there are 2 receiver.???? Blue and black one
Great video. If u didn't have a magnet for sv, can u energize evaporator circuit to keep valve open while doing recovery?

Hey Dave did the low pressure switch fail and cause the compressor to continue running? What was the cause to the compressor running past a pump down? My guess is the low pressure control

How did you connect manifold gauge after evacuation without using core removal tools? 🤷♂️ You always cut that part 😄
@NorCal-refrigeration
3 жыл бұрын
The micron gauge has a shrader fitting. My gauge hoses have ball valves very simple. The receiver has a service valve you can close. No core tool needed there’s no core where I pulled the vacuum.

@@NorCal-refrigeration i do mostly residential ac work and learn refrigeration from you :) so sorry for my ignorance ;). I suppose if you frontseat kingvalve you trap refr in the receiver, but the line side is open, so without any valve to block the vacuum in the line, how do you change the vacuum hose to manifold hose? Would you mind to show in the next video? I would greatly appreciate it :)
And if it doesn't work it's a good placebo lol
