NIV older versions (1980s, etc.) use "inspired by God" and the new (2011 or so) NIV versions use the phrase "God breathed"... (as Begg explains) the direct translation of the single Greek word meaning just that in the original text. (A decided improvement in accuracy.)

I believe that the words of God are to be applied for everyone, including the elderly. Maybe I could be wrong? I don't know 😕

When parents have been attending church and praising God for many years and these were young and now have become elderly and know God's word. And these parents have never changed their minds and actions and continue to tell lies. I believe that these parents are religious and not true followers of the word of God Almighty. And their pastor does not rebuke them, I believe that this is wrong. Because all pastors will be severely judged and punished by God Almighty Jesus for not Rebuking his people to repentance. This is what God Almighty Jehovah Father said that will happen to all pastors that do not rebuke his people for telling lies and falsely accusing innocent people. I do like pastor Elester because he explains the words of God very clearly. I wish that my parents would listen to him but they are blind and are stuck in their abusive behaviors for many years. They never changed!! I tell them that God Almighty Jehovah said that we are all suppose to speak with the truth to one another and stop telling lies and falsely accusing innocent people or daughter. God help me to be strong because this is very hard. I ask this is Jesus name. Amen!

Is the word of God only to be used to rebuke the younger generations? And it doesn't apply to the elderly even though they tell lies and accuse others who are innocent of horrible things?

2 Timothy 3:16. "All that I have written is for you to stand firmly upon God’s spirit {“theopneustas”} (G-2316- “theo” = God + G-4151- “pneu” spirit + G-4714 - “stas” to stand firmly upon) (Romans 7:6; 1 Peter 1:22; 1 John 4:2; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; John 3:5; Joel 2:28) If Paul was speaking of the entire bible, how could he be speaking of all of the books that had not yet been written? Certainly he could not. The above translation is precise and is accurate.
