Your problem is probably you are feeding very low-density food at gravity feed rates. What you need is to redirect the gravity-fed silo into a screw conveyor which compresses the food into pellets. These pellets can be accumulated into a second silo during her sleeping hours, and gravity feeds the pellets into your wife's mouth during waking hours.
