Screw-Blown Pro Mod Corvette on our Dyno! | Stubbs Racing
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Hank Stubbs with Stubbs Racing brought their '63 ScrewBlown Pro Mod Bickle Corvette to our dyno for an Advanced Dyno Session with our team of professionals! The powerful Pro Mod is equipped with the FT600 ECU, FTSPARK-8 Ignition, and CDI Racing Coils.
Most dyno sessions at our headquarters run smoothly, but occasionally we run into mechanical issues that are outside of our control. This is why we recommend that race teams schedule an Advanced Dyno Session with FuelTechUSA before hitting the track. The controlled environment allows us to put the racecar to the test and identify potential problems while limiting the risk to the driver and reducing the wear and tear of repeated passes at the track.
For the Stubbs Racing Team, they experienced a broken crankshaft within the first few pulls of their ‘63 Corvette. The guys evaluated the damage and ultimately decided in order to utilize their dyno session, they needed to switch their motor. While this isn’t something we are accustomed to during our sessions, they had an engine readily available with all accompanying parts and we gave them the “OK” to proceed! Our experienced techs jumped in to help the Stubbs and after the engine swap was complete, we ended the day on a high note with a successful dyno pull.

I'll bet that was one of those hindsight moments. You knew it didn't sound right then it hit you like a 2 by 4

thats how these cars start and idle. any efi or mfi system they all do that.

Kinda wish they showed the end result/numbers. Oh well....
Why is it blowing fuel out exhaust when starting it up? I’ve ran mechanical injected alcohol and never had this happen. I had fuel shutoff cable that killed fuel then I killed ignition power. Y’all guys are the real deal!!!!! Most Dyno/tuners would have quit and said come back another day !!!!

I'm sure they paid for the extra time LOL. Pretty penny for the full day I'm sure.

They run super rich at idle and spray gas into the blower
Holy Shit..
With the wrong firing order it was probably taking a awhile to start while they keep squirting gas on top of it. That may be why it seemed to burp out so much fuel.
Seemed like something was off from first fire up. I would think something of that magnitude and cost would have egt sensors. May be that’s just not something done on a screw blown pro mod.
You need 4500hp just to compete. Depending on class.
what power at 15:50 ??

Man that thing sure dont sound happy. I dont know if they are turning it backwards or not but thats alot of fuel to puke out on every startup. Im going to finish the video now. That second engine was a trooper to tolerate that oops and not pop break or blow apart something. I know how it happens we have all been there and made mistakes hurrying. I'd be getting rid of differences in engines to avoid that stuff. I hope that team puts a diaper or pan on that thing
