Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hello and welcome. In this video I'll show you how I screen print small boxes for my home based business. Large boxes are easy to print with standard size frames but I was having problem with small boxes in particular. The solution required some DIY work.

I've been wanting to get this video out for a while. I recommend using cheap acrylic ink for boxes, something you can get at any store. It's cheaper than water based shirt ink , and the shirt ink can have a slightly tacky surface if not heat cured. If anyone has any suggestions, if you are successfully printing your own small boxes, leave a comment below. Thanks for watching.

Hi Richard, thank you for your video. I am wondering DIY my own logo on box for my small business. So if i use the acrylic ink, would it be easier to paint on the box? or how does it work? much appreciated!

@@Estheryaaa Yes, regular acrylic will work better than fabric paints, because they will just air dry, they won't have to be heat set which could warp the boxes or cause them to catch fire.

Um... the smudging might be an effect of placing the frame directly onto the box. The way I learned it, there should be standoffs to keep the screen "hovering" over the surface (1-3mm) and only when the squeegee passes it should be pushed down onto the paper/box, make contact where you are printing and then spring back...

Yes, that's called off-contact. Generally the thicker or "fluffier" your substrate is (think thick hoodies) the more off contact you should have.

do you use any sort of spacers under the frame when printing? ( to keep the screen just off the surface?

No, I didn't use anything to create off-contact between the box and the screen. It didn't seem to need it.
