I've worked in printing as a full colour offset litho printer since leaving college 30+ years ago I worked my way up as a no1 but never touched screen printing cause of the mess and all the chemicals I've been involved with the biggest blue-chip companies in the UK and I enjoyed every day on the large offsets its hard work but very rewarding so I advize on going into print if you enjoy arts and mechanical minded but not for the colour blind as you haven't a chance of colour work on anything.

Five years, or maybe six years ago I've ever watched the video of making screen printing, not this video but the other, still made by Wai Hang, and remarkably I watched again this year. I don't know why, but, I will never get bored watching video like this. Thanks Wai Hang PS: BTW, I have my equipment now. Start to do some project. What some years of waiting, aye.

@@TSANGHANGLEUNG Well it does. The music really effects on me for I fond of jazz. If may, I'd like to ask about film making. Some use calque paper and some use transparent paper. In your opinion, which one is best in making a film? Btw, I'm still newbie in this stuff, so your answer means a lot to me. Thanks btw.

I like how you stretch the screen over the frames. Its really clever. I used to have a diy 3 platen line table press when I had my setup in my garage. It was so much better than having a rotary press. It was incredibly cheap and really easy to build, took up much less space and I had the ability to accurately print as many colors as needed. It's a great, low cost solution for people who are thinking of getting into the screen printing biz.

Hello, I'm searching for a very specific printing technique for my term work if any one help me I appreciate. What I'm looking is to transfer an image over a terrain model which is made by CNC by using digital elevation model. I guest I should use a photo emulsion cover onto this irregular surface, print the image over a transparent material (glass or pvc) then put over the terrain model and expose under 500w halogen or something like this. Does it work? Do you have ant suggestion for me to find a proper way to do? Best regards.

We feel if you are using halogen light, the exposure time is around 10 - 15 minutes. For ideal result you should use UV lamp for the exposure. If you don't have UV lamp setup, you may try to expose under the sun, just like the demo from our video.

You can get UV LED too. It's UV light that sets the emulsion. With a decent LED your curing time is just a few seconds. Better make a wooden box to use for your exposures though, so you don't take UV yourself. You can also buy these.

I invented my own photo emulsion, with just 1 minute exposure in the sunligjt. It can process the smallest holes or lines in the design.

I use a regular rubber adhesive, meant for carpenters, with one coat on the frame and one on the screen. Rubber has the property of cold weld. meaning it almost fuses with it self (on coming in the contact of another rubber layer). It is also water proof and renders it self solvent proof, on curing by little heat.
