For those confused, plants do not feel pain like humans because they do not have a brain. You need, at the very least, a nervous system with a brain that can use pain receptors to send to the body of injured. Plants HOWEVER can "communicate" if they are damaged by using clicking or popping noises that can't be heard by humans. Scientists are using ultrasonic microphones to record noises that plant's make when stressed or injured and comparing them to healthy plant's; with the stressed ones emitting 30-50 clicks an hour and the relaxed ones only making 1-3 clicks an hour. They don't just verbally communicate.. They also let us know when they need help by changing colors, wilting, and changing the chemicals in the scent they release. They talk to other plant's too by using any of those forms of communication to let other plant's know when there is danger, deprived resources, and when they are healthy too! All of the plant's communicate with eachother for survival and can react accordingly as well!!

@LaCalandrita Right??? Plants are my life, and I was absolutely astonished when I had done more research on how plants adapt and react to their environment. They all show lots of signs of high intelligence, and some scientists suggest that some plants can store memory! (Not the way humans do, of course), but some plants have learned to create poisons and toxic chemicals that they have previously been exposed to or harmed by as a defense mechanism, kind of like a copycat! For example: Let's say a plant is exposed to a gas that burns the skin (like mustard gas), and has become immune or has evolved to mimic and reproduce that same chemical in order to protect itself from any threats. Pretty neat, right?

I know that these are meant for make believe, but for those that do not know Mandrake is a very real plant. And the root does look like a human body. The legend of the plant screaming when pulled is from ancient lore. And for those who follow the old ways of magic. The plant is also toxic and can kill you if ingested.

I remember back in the day, when I saw this I had a lovely THX system onkyo amp ect. The screaming out the centre, speaker was the sharpest sound I've ever heard, then when they all came up every speaker did a different scream. I'll never forget it

one warm day I pulled a tomato off the vine and went inside right away and washed it in cold water and I actually felt it harden like people do when we get in a cold pool...it was weird. It showed that it really felt the cold water, and that it was alive...so mind opening.
