@AlwaysDigging16 Usually the radiators are clogged outside on these machines, a steam washer with loads of pressure works fine for washing the radiator outside. The CAT radiator is metal, so even if you clean with high pressure from near distance, it wont bend the fins. If you don't have time to lengthen the pipe, just listen to the sound then :) On my D6C i have a straight pipe without silencer, it isn't that bad, because the pipe ends 20cm above the cab.

have you seen the dirt that comes out of a rad...usually our overheat problems in camp are from dirty rads

My uncle had the same problem with an 955l model would over heat they found a gasket problem (head)

It could be worth to preassure wash the radiator before destroying the engine :) And a silencer could be worth the bucks, at least a longer exhaust pipe, it helps alot!

My Uncle had a 65 peddle steer that had about 25K hrs on it when he retired it with only 1 engine rebuild and NO transmission rebuild in that time. very strong loader. when he died his son sold it to a farmer and he still uses it.

@SparalOy How do you plan on pressure washing the radiator outside, or inside because if you say outside just get off my channel now lol but yes flushing the inside out would work good and thats what he was planning on doing he just hadn't had the time. Your not gonna hurt the engine that way unless you run it when its hot which he wasn't and common sense would tell you a longer exhaust pipe would help, maybe he doesn't have the time to fix it.

Not much point flushing the inside of the radiator if it's clogged with dirt outside. What's your point?

Not nearly as loud as a 955H no muffler from factory with a turbo.
