What’s the Scream movie about?
The peaceful town of Woodsboro in California turns into a bloodbath when a masked killer haunts the town. Nobody is safe, as the psychopath stalks victims, taunts them with trivia questions, then rips them to bloody shreds. Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), a young teenage girl, whose mother was killed a year before, becomes the target of the masked killer. Her boyfriend Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) becomes the main suspect along with Sidney's father. Local Tabloid News Reporter Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Woodsbroro's Deputy Dwight "Dewey" Riley (David Arquette) investigate and try to figure out who the killer is and if it's the same person who killed Sidney Prescott’s mother the year before.

I like how even Stu was shocked at Billy's motive. He's like, "Holy shit, dude." Considering he was worried about what his parents would do to him if they found out he killed a bunch of people, it makes you wonder if Stu had at least some standards.
@call_me_OJ

It's said that Stu did it because he was actually peer pressured, and that he was so obsessed with the idea of being cool like Billy made his standards disappear, but yeah it seems he has a heart I guess.

@@call_me_OJ The second implication I get from this is that Stu genuinely didn't know Billy's motive and thought they were just killing for fun. Sure, he's a weak-willed lackey, but he clearly got a kick out of murder, and ultimately has no personal motive. That's probably why he looked so shocked--he realized it was personal for Billy.

Stu is much scarier actually. Billy actually had a motive. Stu had none. Billy pretends he does it just because since it's more frightening. And Stu is exactly that, the real deal. Notice how Stu goes back to being "funny" like nothing happened just a couple of seconds later. He really doesn't care. There is also the possibility that he knew and that face was pure acting.

My best friend and I were laughing about this recently, after watching “The Craft” with her 13 year old daughter (it was her 1st time watching it. So fun to share these kinds of things with her now that she’s old enough!) My bff’s daughter didn’t think they looked alike, but I don’t think she’s seen many pics of Johnny when he was really young. So we jokingly called Skeet Ulrich “bargain bin Johnny Depp” and “the generic brand Johnny Depp”. 🤣 Seriously though, Skeet is great on his own, and definitely hot, but he and Johnny could totally be related!

This was one of the most creative reveals in horror movies I've seen. My top two guesses for who the killer was from the first act on were Billy and Neal Prescott. When Billy got 'stabbed' the first time, I defaulted to Neal being the killer. Never ever thought it was Randy. Even better than the reveal was the backstory behind it and the why behind Billy doing this - especially him killing Maureen. It connected everything the backstory was building to immediately and was a clever twist. Bravo to Kevin Williamson for this.

Billy Loomis is one of the best written horror movie characters in history. They brilliantly played him to screw with the audience. One scene he seems innocent and sweet and genuinely cares for Sidney. The next scene he’s creepy af like the film is forcing you to suspect him. You put him as the suspect when he drops his phone during Sid’s first attack only to have it be revealed he didn’t make the phone calls. Then when you start to suspect him again, he’s seemingly killed off, thus again confirming that it isn’t him. But then, I’m the final act they pull a complete 360 on the audience and its revealed that it actually was him the entire time and you’re completely shocked. Brilliant film!!! 👏
01:06 William Afton: The Origins.
