Scream and Scream Again (1970) Amicus movie review
From Amicus: the first time Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Vincent Price were in the same film...but don't expect them to share the screen

The first couple of times I watched this movie, I didn't think much of it. But I watched it again last night and it was much better than I'd remembered it.
"The killer is suitably creepy despite being called Keith." I'm currently wearing the best part of my cup of tea.

IOU 1 cup of tea. Thanks for watching :)
Although it was really a hodge-podge movie somehow it really stuck with me over the decades. Creepy, freaky, and unpredictable!

It's got such a weird structure that it does stick with you, I agree.
Wonderful review as always. I recorded this one off the telly in the 80s and would watch bits of it before school each morning. I can only remember the sequences featuring the jogger as it scared the hell out of me (I was in the school cross country running team.)
Always had this one on the "to watch list" for fans of Halloween 3! You got me there my friend!!
Price what an actor let’s see the Haywoods pickles ads again
Air Punch at the mention of Warlords of Atlantis.aye strange little film this keep forgetting this is an Amicus movie as it doesn't fit in with the other portmanteau ones .Kafkaesque is a word that springs to mind but any Amicus review is a pleasure.another brilliant review Andrew and makes me wanna go back and watch this.
I really enjoy Amicus films, so I'll check this out. Thanks for an awesome review!
Marvelous review - that is exactly right - this is such a WTF? kind of film. I still find it fun between being a trainwreck and having my three favorite actors in it (albeit briefly). I love how the trailer identifies Price and Lee and then says Cushing but it's not Cushing (though e is in the movie). You call the narrative bold - I was thinking eclectic. Thanks for the video!
Great review Andrew. The best thing about this movie is the theme by amen corner.
Awesome review Andrew!
Great review Andrew, really made me laugh. I actually watched this for the first time a couple of months ago and like you, had no idea what was going on! I wondered if the movie was made from 2 or 3 (or maybe more) cancelled scripts that were amalgamated together. Still strangely enjoyable though.

I think, while most of this film doesn't make much sense if any at all, it's still watchable held up by the vampire killer main story. The odd foreign state plot is confusing and the film would've been better without it, if say, they'd gone for a more straightforward slasher tale centering on Gothard's crimes and maybe Price masterminding then it'd been a very fine little sci-fi horror gem. In fact, fans today could probably make their own personal home edits and enjoy it nicely that way... Gothard by the way, would also become a regular on ITV's popular adventure series Arthur of the Britons (1972-73).
Love it
Good review. Overall I felt disappointed with the movie though the car chase was excellent
It's like three different movies in one.
I'm surprised that you didn't list Ken Russell's "The Devils" among Michael Gothard's screen credits. I liked your review very much, and "Scream and Scream Again" is my favorite Vincent Price film; I admire its energy, its swinging London setting, and, above all, its audacity. That said, if one likes their films to make sense, "Scream and Scream Again" is likely to disappoint. Fun fact: director Gordon Hessler also made the much-despised "Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park".

Thanks for watching 😊
I have to admit, I saw "Amicus" and my mind raced to the portmanteau films. I still enjoyed the review, though!

Bound to get around to the portmanteau films sometime. I mean, From Beyond the Grave is one of my all time favourite films

@@GrumpyAndrewsHorrorHouse Really? That's actually my favourite of the bunch. I love them all, but FBTG feels like the strongest one overall in terms of individual stories and the wrap-around.I feel like with the other movies, they're all great in their own ways, but there's always one or two dodgy individual stories.

Great review, Andrew. I watched this last night. Wasn't too keen on it, not least due to the fact that we didn't see much of the three horror icons. And Peter Cushing didn't last long, did he?

It's the Amicus way! We can't pay for Cushing/Lee/Price to be in a whole movie, but we can pay them all for a couple of days work each and stick their names on the poster! It's kinda genius.

Yeah, I suppose so. Couldn't revisit this particular movie again, though, so am flogging it on ebay. Not one of their best.
A great review of a rather dull film. I've tried to watch this film a few times and I've always just given up due to it being just nonsense! Though it does have my favourite actors in it , I just cannot sit through it, I also had the same problem with Blood Beast Terror, I've had this film for years and even purchased the blu ray last year, and finally sat through it and it was just so dam dull, so it would be interesting to hear what you would think of Blood Beast Terror? , if you manage to stay awake while watching it! Such a shame as I love Peter Cushing and love just about everything he's been in ,even The Uncanny!!!😱👍

I agree with you on both films, Kenneth. They were two real disappointing movies.
I did not like it but watched the big stars only. I fast forwarded most of it.
