I used to think it was funny but I can’t help but think that that’s actually how the movie industry works. It’s disturbing how often entertainers will make jokes about sleeping for parts at roasts etc. She also said George Lucas ruined her life and it didn’t really seem to be a joke.

Wish she didn’t die though, I love Parker Posey. As far as Kirby, the actress still isn’t confirmed for the film. There could be surprises though. David Arquette said in an interview he wants the Kirby character to return somehow.

You know...they wrote Jennifer to be annoying, but Parker Posey's take made her the highlight of the film. ❤️ Jennifer. So sad she died. Wish she got a better, more obnoxious ending. 😆

Oh gosh everywhere. The character who plays the movie mogul (I forget his characters name and the actors name - he's the guy from aliens) he's basically a Harvey Weinstein character. Oh ya his name is Milton. The chick who plays Sidney references that she had to sleep with him to get the part. They even hint at Hollywood parties where girls are "passed around" etc. It's fascinating due to how much of this turned out to be real in light of me too. Ok edit: another commenter also pointed out the scream franchise is even produced by dimension which was owned by the Weinstein co. The poignancy is remarkable.

One thing I came to notice about a bunch of movies that Weinstein produced, many such as Scream and Sin City often carry an anti-rape and anti-predator message. Now it's easy for even the most Savvy of producers to not catch on that the message is directed at them, because they produce a lot of movies that have that message and the people that make said movies often always make their stand-in character look nothing like their producer or make them a producer within the universe of the lore they're portraying. This movie on the other hand, flat out mentions, that Milton who is an obvious stand-in for Weinstein hosted a party where Maureen Roberts Prescott/Rina Reynolds was raped by producers when she tried getting parts in their movies. Roman being the angry bitter psychotic director whom was trying to get his dream movie made (A real classic love story.) was obviously Wes bitter at the lengths he went through to get Music From The Heart greenlit. Not to mention Roman himself killing Milton, who's to say that wasn't Wes warning Weinstein what's gonna happen if he kept his crap up.

Wait - back up. Is that last line really true? If so, that fits with what a comment that Estelle (Joey's agent on Friends) made when she met Rachel and Monica. She asked them if they were in showbiz or had an agent, but after being told "no", Estelle claimed that with Monica's face and Rachel's chest, she could "put something together". Estelle's comment was also made in Season 4 of the show, which was around the time of Scream 2.
