i think the key to freestyle are 2 things: 1. adding new notes that are in the same rhythm, like using the white and yellow spaces to reference where to press the freestyle notes. 2. not pressing other bottons that aren't in the line (like for example if there's UP, S, W and D in the line, you can't press A, DOWN, LEFT or RIGHT)

It’s like that, you can only use notes in the line, doesn’t matter if they have been used yet in the line yet, but it also has to be in a rhythm, the rhythm of your free styling can effect point gain and even if you lose health for it

Starting very early seems to almost always punish you, and it’s about consistency, if you start late then correct you get punished, but if you remain the same level of late it seems to let you pass

you can press mirror notes for the arrow keys to complement the song(if it's in the same lane), like after you hit a left arrow you can hit the right arrow if it's in the same lane.

I missed this game, it seemed like a fun game with cool songs, can't wait for its full release!

@@cayke. It’s basically a virtual Japanese singer. Hatsune Miku, Len and Rin Kagamine, Kaito and Teto for example

The tuning on the vocaloids are so so so crisp and I could totally tell the difference from the previous game despite how long ago it was. Props to the devs for the smooth gameplay, mechanics, animation, and music for this amazing game demo, can’t wait to see what else is coming 🙏

The two most important things about freestyling that you may not have understood 1. You can only freestyle with notes on the bars. If the bars have A, W, S, and Up, you need to freestyle using those notes. Pressing something else will always take points off 2. The freestyle has to on beat. You need to follow the beat and rhythm of the. Just spamming notes without any timing will be too much and take points off

This game looked so cool in the demo a year ago and it only looks better now! The changes in dialogue and especially the change from 2D Sidescroller to more Open 3D were so nice! I can’t wait to see what else they’re gonna do with this game!

These songs are so good. Plus I love the many references to SEGA games like Sonic and Knuckles on the graffiti, Cinnabay and her brother reminds me of Jet Set Radio, and the last part with the colorful drops reminds me of Puyo Puyo (puzzle color matching game). And the new updates with the art style and animation looks amazing!

Sidechain Fever is a reference to the Puyo Puyo series. That's what I love about this song. You can see the character "Rensa" in a magician outfit, using her hands to cast magic, just like in the game. Even the lyrics contain terminology of the game. Here's some of that terminology explained: Fever = An event that allows you to get a ton of points or do a ton of damage, depending on the game mode. Four pops = The basic rule of Puyo Puyo. Connect four Puyos of the same color to clear them. Chain = When Puyos are cleared one after another in a chain reaction. The character's name "Rensa" is the Japanese term. We're not gonna stop = The Puyos will never stop falling. This is a reference to "Puyo Puyo Song": ぷよが降り続ける To the top = Another basic rule of Puyo Puyo. When a Puyo reaches the top, game over.
