Hello Phil, very good idea with the “rolling orange workbench”. So you have one in the garage for winter, one in front of the garage for rainy days and one for sunny days. Greetings from Germany, Andi. 🙃😄

Hey Phil, I picked up a compact 24v FLEX brand bandsaw (one hand) and prefer it for metal cutting/ scrapping over a grinder for most jobs. Less dust and noise. Blades last a good while for $7-12 each as long as not cutting hardened steel and some stainless. For most cuts its faster than a grinder. Milwaukee has good models also. Key is to pick a model saw with a common blade size available from multiple manufactures and are cheap. Some bandsaws have a odd size blade and they overcharge for the blades. I picked the Flex compact one hand saw as it has an offset blade angle of about 1-1/4" so I can cut lengthwise continuously. I cut up thousands of feet of metal grating for a repurposed material project.

All the heavy, bulk stuff is gone. The biggest bulk pile you got now is microwaves. Then you got water dispensers, then garage door openers. You accumulated lot of brass & copper to be processed (near your cable stripping machine) I think your inside work bench also holds lots of brass scrap to be processed. Those cast aluminum chairs were a lucky find. Not 1% processing required. Direct from finding on the street to cashing out in scrap yard.

Always strip chandelier or those things for brass. If I find them in the dumpster I’ll just break the glass there.

Hey! My scrapyard refuses to accept those aerosol cans in any form... they say , their buyer doesnt want those cans even in the cheapest mix. So i stockpite them for now. maybe i will remelt them and sell on Kijiji equivalent here in Ukraine as turning blanks. BTW, they also refuse any remelted aluminum... Go figure.

Wait what? Did you say the ceiling fan blade brackets were steel? I know you know your scrap so I must have missed something. I have never seen steel brackets. All mine have always been pot metal. What am I missing 😮?
