Scrapping All the Metal From a SCRAP HOARDER'S House!

Absolutely massive haul of scrap metal on this one!!! We got the call to help clean up a SCRAPPING HOARDER'S estate sale, he left the property in quite a state and now WE get to hop in and haul away all the leftovers! Recycling metal can be an adventure, and this one certainly was!

that blue pump you found is called a "hydrolift" and is used in collecting groundwater out of wells for testing. its basically an electric motor that drives a piston up and down, that connects to tubing in the well that when moved up and down forces water into the tube and up to the surface for collection. sounds fancy but basically worthless, good for scrap!

I don't know if I could do it, honestly. I've restored, repurposed, and salvaged too many things over the years to see something with potential scrapped or sold at a fraction of its worth. I mostly repair and rescue things that I can use, restore things that have historical/rare/antique significance, and keep an eye out for high quality alloys to use for smithing and machining. It's definitely a different mindset to have when dealing with business like this, as there's only so much time in a day to work on things. The dilemma being...do you end up hoarding stuff to save it, sell it to someone so they can restore it and you're out that potential money or cool thing, or just take it to the scrap yard and recycle it into something else? It's a tough call, because nobody else is going to store your junk when you run out of room lol

Thub... My Hero......My Brother... My Kindred Spirit... My Guru 🙏😇 But ya know.... Even Guru's sometimes need help. Selling some of those scrapped items were much more valuable than as scrap metal. I'm glad you rescued the Alcohol Stoves. I'm torn on that aluminum table that you destroyed so brazenly. If that was a vintage table it woulda been worth big bucks. And did any of the chairs go with it ? Kudos on saving those propellers because I know the value on vintage marine items. Nice job overall my guy. I know that being there and watching it all from the comfort of my E-Z-Liner are two way different shows. My affinity to metals and vintage anything kept me jealous and entertained.

Hmmm, I think I followed you years ago..you seemed to be struggling a bit. How wonderful to see things have gotten better for you and your family. I’m a sixty something.New York grandma with insomnia. So I spend my nights following all you wonderful scrappers, and driving you all crazy with my insensate comments and witty musings. I’m perfectly harmless…just trying to share my sleep deprived personality between you all. Anyway, take care and I will be moseying on …see you later!

Well thank you for saying hi! I managed to build this channel up enough that I don’t have to pick bottles unless I want to, so now I focus on the scrap metal and generally I think we have a great time here 😊 Your sleep deprived musings are more than welcome haha 😉
