Scrap Metal Giants of Ban Hun Lek (House of Steel Statues)

Another one-take wander..... raw and unfiltered, no cuts, no music and no 'fancy' editing.
Ban Hun Lek บ้านหุ่นเหล็ก was the creative idea of Pairot Thanomwong, who started to make steel figures with pieces from old engines in 2000. At first, it was just an enjoyable hobby, but then people became interested and requested to buy some pieces. Thus, he began to make small figures to sell in Pattaya, which did really well. Interest grew, including from articles in the Bangkok Post and others, so in 2004 he began making steel sculptures for export, including taking commissions according to customers' orders. In 2011, he moved the factory to Ang Thong province on the number 32 road. Inside Ban Hun Lek, you will find a plethora of fantastic creations, including robots, transformers (robots in disguise), super heroes, cartoon characters, cars and animals. There is a shop where you can buy smaller souvenirs made from scrap metal and a welcoming cafe. A few years ago, after receiving many inquisitive visitors, Ban Hun Lek started to charge a very reasonable entrance fee of THB 60... BUT they opened up the whole place and created an open museum and workshop. Visitors are now encouraged to walk through the workshop area and watch the skilled craftsmen at work. Everybody is given 'EXCLUSIVE' behind the scenes workshop access here.

Worst performing video statistically for a long time.... I shouldn't have been so honest in the other video and retained my positivity haha. I shall persevere 🙏

It was a cool place Jimmy. In all honesty ’Transformers’ and the like were never my thing…although the Daleks did leave an impression and one of my earliest memories is hiding behind a sofa while they were on TV some time in the 60’s. The skill of those artists truly amazed me and if there is life on Mercury then they won’t be any more adept at working in the heat of the Sun

Haha I remember hiding from the daleks too Karl! They must have some kind of heat resistant skin as the only sweat I saw was dripping from me. If we'd had time, i would've stayed another hour or two and filmed a proper vid, although I would've just waffled on more lol
