Good to see an SCP that is almost entirely benign , actively helpful to people and doesn't give you horrible crap like nuclear weapons and mass death. Not to mention he is wonderfully polite. For goodness sakes turn of a camera so he doesn't have to run through an entire complex.

It seems that all investigations of SCPs abilities lay just outside of the realm of science, so It's quite understandable about the foundation methods. It like trying to solve the duality of double slit experiment using various methods trying to prove concretely wave or particle behavior.

Does anybody else find it weird that the butler either winches in pain or gets uncomfortable when he's been given a question he can't answer? I wouldn't surprised at all that if he turned out to be someone who's been made into a butler against his will. He even said Mr. Deeds is not his birth name and doesn't remember his past. Awfully suspicious in my books.

vercci I suspect that Mr. Deeds is an artificial thaumatological entity bound to the bell. It explains his ability to “respawn” without any injuries. As such an entity, he would have no memories or personality other than what his creator set it to have. As for the pain, you’d get a headache, too, if you tried your hardest to relay information about something you don’t entirely understand!

It's actually not an uncomon trope for a servant bound by magic to have a paon condition limiting what they can do or say. It's a way to control them and keep whats yours, yours. More than likely he can't say to keep him (and others like him) employed as it's probably not a unique talent if he has such a clause on simple answers. As for not remembering his name, he was born almost 200 years ago, that's a LONG time to lose track of something he more than likely only used for 15-18 years (depending on when he was trained as a butler).

Is it weird that I find Mr. Deeds and his mannerisms strangely adorable? I don't know why, but his willingness to serve and his polite nature are so cute!

Favorite SCP youtuber.

That was the most sociopathic servant story I have ever heard. In a later story I heard the researcher was reprimanded for his use of the D level agent , and assigned only missions with the class Keter by the ethics committee.

I really like this channel, one of the best SCP readers at least. You deserve way more popularity on KZread.

What if you just tell him: "Be free."? Would he be detached from the bell and be able to live a normal life, or is that not possible?

Wonder if Deeds would be infected by scp610? Even if he was it could be expected that if he was killed and burned then later respawned without infection, that would be very useful. If he respawned infected, however, he would have to be burned and the bell destroyed, obviously.

Like having an overly efficient shadow who knows WAY to mich about your sectets. I used to be a nanny and alhave limited butlery, maid and chef skills (when you have nothing to do while the kids are busy, you get creative...and my clients did enjoy a freshly cooked dinner or a perfectly made bed waiting for them).

It’s not just an ordinary butler, it’s a butler that will do anything no matter what (except kill). Hell, he can even grant you chunks of money, offer you the best expensive item, fix your car, build a house, pretty much anything. Now that right there is the kind of butler I wish to have.

Honestly, it would be awesome to have Mr. Deeds as one's own personal butler, but really, I more so pity the poor guy... I get he's an SCP but at the same time, he's still a being that seems to have his own emotions... I wish there was more to this than just that, something behind his origins, where he came from, if he was a human before an SCP that's cursed to forever be a butler for humankind, etc... If it fell into my hands, I'd make him a friend rather than a butler, I know that sounds cliche but he has his own feelings too, I just feel so bad for him, only being called when someone wants something, and being alone for the rest of the time in someplace that causes him amnesia when called, which I assume might be from severe trauma and pain to cause him to such forgetfulness.

+Evan “Melonhead361” s Yeah, as Eastside show SCP stated, its only containment. General rule is Safe: they have it contained with 99% chance of no escape. Euclid means it can, and WILL some day escape. That's not the way their actually designated, but it is a good rule of thumb.

How interesting. It seems he is able to act as if he can all most pull items out of nothing. It seems like he goes to get the item and it shows up in his pocket. Or when it is time to do the task it is not him doing it. All most like you tell him what you want then he shuts down something else does it then gives it to him to complete.
