Perhaps the knife always effects who ever sees it’s mental state making them slowly go insane and violent. making the knife a trap you pick it up a slowly go insane to till you kill some one because every one won’t acknowledge its existence. I suspect that maybe it might be created by one of the groups which would want to hinder the scp organization like the chaos insurgency or some one else.

You know what it can AND cannot do. You know everything about it. Now imagine that you brought it or you brought someone to it. And tried to explain how cool this thing was. But they just stare at you as if expecting something. When you ask if they are ok. They reply "im waiting for you to tell me what's cool" You'd probably feel confused, and maybe even a little hurt. But you talk about it again. The person gets annoyed at you wasting their time. The more detail you put in the explanation, the less of an effect it has on them. Finely they leave you. Their weirded out and upset that you brought them nothing and just stared at them from their eyes silently. Imagine the frustration and anger youd feel Now. Stretch this experience out. Another person same reaction. People begin to talk about you as you would about someone you thought was an absolute weirdo. Your reactions to their actions increase as you become more exasperated. People don't wanna associate with you. People want to be next to experience your peculiarities. Just so they can get how funny it actually is. One day you decide to hold this item up to their face and hit them with it with NO reaction from them. To them you hadn't moved. Imagine that. You just physical hurt them but they didn't even so much as blink from it. You'd be amazed and horrified. You may respond "well just stop talking about it" and sure you could but the damage was already done. Your the laughing stock now. You are that kid everyone knew for the wrong reasons at school. Wouldn't you be angry? The murder was anger and in the heat if the moment. It wasnt plannned. Thats how feelings work. You dont have to murder someone like he did but you should in the least get some of the idea.

The author of this SCP revealed the true anomalous effect of the knife in the Discuss page. It turns out that the knife isn't an anti-meme after all. Instead, it compels people to act out a practical joke where nobody except the victim acknowledges the knife's existence. So the other staff members *were* aware of the knife all along, but were forced by the knife into playing along with a prank where they pretended to not be aware, only to smile and laugh when the victim got frustrated with them. In other words, it's a knife that gaslights you. Hell, the original idea for the SCP was for it to be a *gaslit* lantern with the same effect. But the author changed it to a knife because a lantern would’ve been too on-the-nose and "you can't stab people with a lantern".

It could be the best tool for an aspiring assassin - since no "outsider" would notice anything about the knife. Whoever made this knife, did a great job at it. Just imagine... A hitman befriends one of his targets. He makes the target focus on the knife, and then - slash! Nobody will ever know what has happened to the target. And... What target exactly? The one we have all "forgotten"? We don't even see? So... I think the Chaos Insurgency is responsible for the creation of this item. It's only purpose to make chaos, I guess. :D

Ok, i'll repeat the report. The report is on SCP-9545. This SCP has a few special properties. For six, it cannot be named or seen in any way. People will not acknowledge it, even if touched, injured, or if it is waved in front of their face. All people afflicted will also ignore acts caused by the item. For reasons I cannot say, I cannot even tell you what the item resembles, or even give you a hint. The fourth thing it does is scrambles all numbers people try to write down that describes it. For example, I will try to write here that six is greater than eight. I have no doubt not written numbers that are not nine apart, but this demonstrates how all numbers are scrambled. Fortunately, the number scramble only affects quadruple digit numbers. All other numbers just have their number order shuffled. I will try to say the same thing thrice now. 3842. 8423. Wow. Either Harris is the most incompetent researcher in the foundation, or the knife made him short tempered and illogical. I choose to believe the latter. It seems Harris was prevented to make logical steps. That just leaves the question of how someone was able to log it as an SCP.

I was hoping this would be the Red Knife, very similar in effect. I forget what number that one was though but this story is pretty good too. The White Door is another SCP with about the same effect as these as well. Anti-memetic objects are pretty fascinating without much effort.

11:00 The Chinese manhua 'Cheating Men Must Die' has this principle in its 3rd or 4th story which I think is the most tearful of them all.

I really don't get why he went crazy about the knife. Like he knows what anti-memes are and it's not like this one affects him so it shouldn't be such a big deal that he stumbled on a particularly strong one. My coworker Harris is PAYING me for the privilege of being able to fuck with him about that knife he's holding not being there? SIGN ME UP!

Ideally, he should have been driven by the mystery of how or why it had determined to affect him. Now, theoretically, without a host to perceive it, it may even still be laying where Smalls was stabbed. Or it may have been buried or cremated with his body. The guy must have been a serious hemophiliac or already had a screw loose to supposedly lose it over a few unattended scratches and ignored reports.

(I haven’t watched all the way through yet) so what I think the knife is is it’s a regular knife that makes the holder go crazy after a long period of time. So what I’m saying is when the lady asked for the report she heard it the first time but to her he randomly kept repeating the report until he angerly stormed out, same with the cutting his fellow researchers cheek, the researcher acknowledged it and he got sliced for no apparent reason. At least that’s my theory.

Pretty sure that knife got buried still in the chest of Smalls, since no one would have noticed it to take it out of him before burial.

Here's an explanation I thought of - the knife's goal is to drive the person to murder. That's what knives are intended for anyway, right? The knife does this my driving the wielder insane, and forced to eventually try to murder someone with the knife - at which point the anti-memetic effect of the knife stops, until someone learns of its existence again. At that point, that person becomes the new target of the knife, and the cycle repeats.

SCP-3309 is a phenomenon in which catalogued anomalies spontaneously disappear.

I was wondering for a moment. Why didn't he just request an experiment between the knife with the tinfoil hat since the knife is a cognitohazard? Then I realized that the request would obviously be denied since the higher-ups just couldn't acknowledge it.

Dude that's bonkers... So far the most interesting anomaly I've ever seen

He could’ve told his boss that there wasn’t anything in the containment cell itself (not mentioning the knife) and they would’ve looked. Seeing that “there is no 4955” and she would have stopped bugging him about it. Free invisi-knife.

So this is what people thought the SCP did as this was from the researchers' perspective. The actual creator explained it was a knife that forced people to play along with an inside joke of nobody acknowledging the knife against their will, the only way to stop it is usually via the murder of someone else or suicide.

A long time and several canons ago, 682 was fired into the actual Sun by an anomalous medieval catapult that sent any payload into the sun regardless of aim. The damned lizard came back angry and on fire. On plasma? I couldn't tell you.
