The Locket is still a fantastic way to heal people, all it takes to prevent any horrific mutations is establishing a strict time limit on exposure.

Sadly no, similar to radiation exposure, SCP-427 exposure is cumulative regardless of the exposure time. Thus if an individual is exposed for a total of 1 hour even in short increments, the change will still occur.

Maybe the reason they can’t establish a time limit is because depending on how severe the person is wounded or sick. It could take more exposure to heal that person. And the more they are exposed the more they inch toward the flesh monsters. Maybe that’s why.

This SCP reminds me of SCP-407 - The Song of Genisis. It is a song that can cure almost anything when listened to for up to two minutes. However, if someone listens to the song for longer than that, the person will start to experience rapid cell growth and will eventually no longer be human if the song is not turned off.

I thought they did something like that with a human and it ended horribly. I can't remember if it was redacted info or the human turned into a horrifying killing machine, but with stuff like that in mind it might create something like the plague doctor because "life is a disease, I must cure it." It would be interesting but the potential for horror is very present too.

If one of the SCP-500 pills is put into SCP-914 on the "Very Fine" setting, it will create a lethal "Upgraded pill" that if consumed causes blurred vision, brownish drippings and swelling of the muscle tissue and after a while you will mutate similar like SCP-427.

I wonder if they put the empty pill container in the upgrade SCP 914 if it would make an infinite source of the pills the real question is whether to leave one pill in it or not another problem is determining what setting to put them on since you only get one chance

@@zefftrus9825 The container itself probably wouldn't turn into anything useful? Pretty sure only the pills are anomalous, but correct me if I'm wrong? It would probably just create an improved plastic container?? Not sure...

It should be noted that the lovecraftian locket is what return Dr. Cleft to normal after the Witch Child accidentally turned him into a dragon and Dr. Cleft went into a rampage as a dragon. So just how much it can heal and strengthen in a short amount of time before the victim mutates is still a mystery if you ask me.

The animation on this episode is fantastic, especially the first glimpses of a flesh beast in the opening of the video. The drawing of the locket is also amazing; it looks jet black and so smooth it looks wet, which is super hard to depict!

Dr. Gears along with Bright Cleft and Kondraki are also known as the four horsemen of the Foundation. Mainly because of one of the rules Dr. Bright is not allowed to do in the foundation which is to say 'SCP doesn't stand for: F-u-c-k Death Pestilence Famine and War, We got Bright, Cleft, Gears, and Kondraki' (I may of mix up the order of the names but you get the point). Dr. Gears normally the calmest and well behave of the four, but as this video shows, it's when Dr. Gears shows emotions and/or interest when everyone should be most cautious.

Imagine this is the kind of locket you find in an RPG or D&D campaign. The benefits it gives but risks that come with it the more you use it or are exposed to its effects.

I appreciate Dr Bob for bringing more interesting contents..

But they do care, but they need to make sure its 100% safe. What, they expose the locket to the world, which they only have 1 in current existence. How can they inform the world they have a cure all in form of a locket exposure? How would the worlds government react especially the GOC if they knew about it? Stop and think before assuming SCP don't care.

What are you talking about? The locket is extremely dangerous. Imagine if such a thing existed. Who gets to use it? It only works on one person at a time and there's only one locket. If they put another pill into the clockworks, there's no telling what will come of it. So, who gets to use it? Probably whomever can afford it. There's no insurance program in existence that would cover it. So, only the rich would be healed and improved.

Basically do not be exposed to this thing for long periods of time. Get healed, get stronger, then get the hell away from it.

Been watching videos with Dr. Bob for a couple of years now and I still enjoy watching them and learning about all of the anomalies in the SCP Foundation archives. Always so interesting. I know he has also done some stories that cross scps and or backstories to some scps, but I always wondered what would happen if SCP 3899 "The Night Hauler" drove through the hunting grounds of SCP 973 "The Smokey" and triggered him to appear. Maybe that has happened before. Seems like it would be a stalemate, but you never really know when it comes to anomalies. As always, a wonderful video. Thanks for all the great content.

Too much energy cumulated from strange origins makes a big increase in agression, that's why it's optimal for more typical ways that are genuine and simple are to be used to focus that energy into something productive that is to be allowed and also verified as well for proper contribution and expression else those effects create primal fleety and vile responses. That's why the lil greens are so sensitive and overly charged with energy, they lack proper adjustment grounding and disciplinative direction with proper handling in order toavoid from going nasty wild.

Another masterpiece by dr bob

I already heard of this locket, but now with closer inspection, I theorize SCP-914 gave some of its ‘improving’ ability when converting the SCP-500 pill into a locket.

This shows a bright future for the clockwork and other scps that are in a huge quantity and they could use that locket to heal cancer and such but we know its the SCP foundation they'll just use it on minor inconveniences. Why not use it on the Lizard? see what happens? I'd be curious to test the locket on all aggressive SCPS and see what the "healing" would do

Amazing how they put the pill in there to make 427, but apparently using the 1:1 setting to make more of them never came to mind.

I always felt the locket was more Cronenburgian than Lovercraftian.

Im so glad I play SCP Secret Lab, I use and understand 500 and 914 all the time. I can see 427 in SCP:SL, that would be fun to experience and play!

if the combination of scp-500(the pills) and scp-914(clockworks) creates scp-427 (Lovecraftian Locket) on the setting fine, then imagine what happens on the setting very fine

That art on those monsters was amazing. When I imagine cosmic Lovecraftin horror, that is often what comes to mind. Fleshy thing that looks as terrifying as it is disgusting. It is hard to draw Lovecraftin horror, so fleshy body horror is often a safe bet, and if done right, quite disturbing.

Well it's a gift but a curse as well. Dealing with how long u could be exposed to it.

Right? I dont see much of a problem. Gauge the usage to the optimal time when your body is super enhanced, then stop. At that point you are basically immune to disease, stronger, faster, more intelligent, etc etc. Whats not to like??

My biggest complaint with Dr. Bob is it always feels like forever between uploads, which I'd say is indicative of the quality and entertainment value. 👍 @JoeCliffThompson also just has a great voice. Hope they don't ever replace them.
