SCOTUS ruling the ‘only thing’ preventing former presidents being prosecuted in foreign countries
Lawyer Robert Barnes says the SCOTUS ruling is now the “only thing” preventing former presidents from being extradited to foreign countries to be prosecuted.
“Without it, you know, someone unhappy with Joe Biden’s policies, unhappy with Barack Obama’s policies, unhappy with George W. Bush or Bill Clinton’s policies, all of them could seek the extradition of someone over something that was done by the US military or the US government overseas,” he told Sky News Australia host James Morrow.
“This protects all of them, and primarily cares about protecting the institution of the presidency.”

What is is this rubbish about Presidents being exposed to blackmail under threat of criminal prosecution? Normal justice principals would apply; ie the act would need to be defined as criminal, it would need to go through normal natural justice mechanisms and then one (or many) levels of courts would need to find it criminal (including a jury of citizens). The chances of blackmail are tiny and it could be countered quickly by a President using the resources of the Dept of Justice. What utter crap.

@@rossdavey428 don't think Trump would go prison he'd have a pardon after agreeing to stand down an then Trump would advocate a likely candidate in his favour that will in return be in debt but be in the lime light sulking if he doesn't get his breaks but who knows,maybe ww3 or another desert storm breaks out involving multiple joint countries to counter middle east an puts presidential vote date on hold because war could also change the votes Biden is said to be mentally incapacitated so maybe he could get away with more than Trump could
