Scotty says Gabi (his wife) used to write "Mrs. Scotty McCreery" on her notebooks when they were in elementary school. They didn't get together until he started filming his video for "The Trouble With Girls," and someone suggested she play his love interest. Things sparked from there.

I saw Scotty live at Grand Ole Opry in Nashville in 2018. My grandfather had just died the month before, and I had never heard this song before. By the time he was done performing it, I was sobbing. It was a combination of sad tears for my grandfather’s death, and happy tears for a song that I resonated so deeply with. Thank you for your reaction! ❤️😌

On the 21st I will celebrate our 20 year anniversary. We have been together for 24 years and we dated when we were 16. Wouldn’t trade him for ANYTHING!!!! Divorce is NOT an option. We talk about EVERYTHING and laugh all the time. We actually spend 24/7 together because we drive semi trucks. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Scotty is one of my top 5 favorite artists of all time. He's just so old school sounding country and has an amazing deep voice. Gabi is his wife now and they have a little boy, who is a little over a year old now. They named him Merrick Avery and Gabi is in quite a few of his videos and he's starting to add his son in a few now. You should do This is it next. My uncle who was in his late 70s had a headache one day so you decided to go to the doctor . Turns out he was in the final stages of leukemia and found out a little to late , he died 3 days later after finding out and he was pretty content with all things considered . He said he was happy cause he knew where he was going. His final words were to my aunt (his wife) and they were literally "promise me you won't forget about me, I love you" it made it a little bit easier to deal with since he was so okay with dying but it's never easy. RIP to the best man,uncle,brother,father and son I've ever met in my life. Wish I could have five more minutes to spend with you
