The reason why everyone still asks about the solo is because it touches something deep in your soul. The fact that Scotti took the time to make a video showing note for note how to play it says a lot about his soul. Thanks Scotti.

Even as a drummer, I remember his and Dave's solos were so melodic, rather than just blasting through scales at warp speed. They wrote musical pieces for the song, and therein lies the importance and significance of true song writing. These guys did a superb job of doing that, and having musicians remembering them 30 yrs later, is a testament to that fact. Thanks for the great music Mr. Hill. You're a world class musician.👍

Even the bands from the 80’s that still make music to this day. Still write guitar solos. @@graeme1744 It's an amazing piece of music for sure! I've been a Skid Row fan since the beginning, messed around with the guitar when I was a kid but never was really serious, I always wanted to learn this solo since the first time I heard it! Now, 32 years later, I'm doing that very thing! To play it right with all the little nuances and bar work, it's dang tough, Scotti is an amazing guitar player and makes it look just so easy! Just like he talks about those damn strings ringing out, he's a master at muting! And for me, if you can't get those bar dumps and correct inflections as he does on the album and the exact same way he does in this video, you're not doing the music justice in my book! I'm not quite there right yet, but since he shared this amazing video, I think I just may have a chance!!

@@graeme1744 Thank you! You know I understand musicians mixing it up and not wanting to step on someone's toes by playing material note for note, but when you have a classic solo, like the one here, played any other way just ruins it for me! I hear folks covering different solos that play the notes, and play the notes well, but if you don't have that feel, it just ain't the same to me! It'd be like listening to Hotel California and someone just butchering the solos, you just can't do it! You gotta be true to Joe and Don!! You know growing up when I did, we listened to music front to back top to bottom, and I'm glad we did, because it made us listen, and with listening, you learn and music grows on us! These kids nowadays don't listen and they can't hardly communicate because of it! Hell, when we threw a record on, or a tape in, we were committed! Man, I used to keep cassettes in for months on end in the vehicle listening over and over, I'm glad I did too, cause it surely helps me learn the songs because they are etched into my brain! Thanks for the reply, my friend, it's nice to see cool people on here for a change! Take care, and stay safe!

This should give you a laugh from the past too....my show was the first with Phil V and you guys came to Rome a day or two early to rehearse with Phil. Your manager called me a few days before to ask me to line up a studio for this rehearsal. I had heard some local band guys always talking about their"Studio" so I assumed it was legit and set it up for you guys to use. When we got out there (in the middle of nowhere) it turned out to be a damn barn! I apologize again about that but props to you guys for rolling with it. Still to this day, that was my favorite show I ever booked at the venue and you guys killed it! Thanks again.

I went on some trip in high school and listened to this solo about 35 times in row on my walkman. It's so good as is the whole song. I never imagined 30 whatever years ago i would someday see something like this. Thanks for the song and video!

Thanks for doing this. One of the classic guitar solos of all time. Getting a personal lesson is off the charts cool. Seeing how to do it. If only I had the tone in my fingers. And oh, the classic guitar, the legend. VERY cool. Thanks again for taking the time to do this for us. Pretty special.

I remember learning this solo out of guitar for the practicing musician back in the early 90's way before KZread. I use to love sitting on my bed with my Kramer, also with a floyd rose tremelo, and a new guitar tab magazine learning new songs. God I miss those days.

I remember playing along to the song and I nailed that squeal at the 40 second mark exactly like it is on the record. I was so stoked. I didn't get any other parts of the solo right, but I got that harmonic squeal. lol

Thank you Scotti, that was awesome, as a long time fan it’s so great to see you guys still taking the time to give back and connect with your audience. This whole album blew me away when it came out, I loved the whole hard rock scene (still do) but you guys were on another level! Easily the best debut album of any band, ever, and I mean that with all sincerity. Can’t wait to see you guys on tour when you visit us in Australia later in 2022, it’s going to be epic!
