If the debate were between Demidov and say Buium, it would make a lot more sense. Some scouts have Levshunov ranked as the 5th or 6th best defenseman in this draft and don't consider him a top 5 pick. Looking forward to the draft tonight. I'm Demidov all the way.

What are you defending if you can’t score? The Blackhawks were the lowest scoring team in the NHL last year. We lack quality scoring, while we have a stable with left defencemen. We can find a starting right defencemen later in the round or draft. Btw, who cares about personality when you’re not the best player available at 2! This is not even a choice!

If Chicago doesn’t take Demidov they will regret it he has such a high ceiling compared to levshunov.

Hawks forward pipeline needs more help compared to the defensive pipeline. When Demidov is BPA AND Hawks need forwards the most how do you NOT go with the Russian?

Passing on Demidov AND Eiserman at the 2nd first round pick is WILD!!

If Lev was LHD no one is talking about him at #2, which is sad considering all the needs of this Blackhawks team.

Demidov is 6’ 1/2” 192lbs. He is actually the second biggest forward, likely to go in the top 10

Demidov is too dynamic not to take. His playmaking is sick. Can find a solid dman at #18 for sure. Else Jones, vlasic, korchinski, murphy, del mastro, allan , kaiser and rinzel can hold it down. Hawks forwards playing 200 ft game would help hawks team defense overall.

no, you need a #1 defenceman, if youre too top heavy you are not winning the stanley cup. They need to draft levshunov.

It’s kind of funny that Levshunov would be one of the smallest defenseman of their defenseman prospect group.

Levshunov looks like the pick. Don't see enough flash for me. Don't want another Seth Jones at best. Yes Demitov has injury woes. But hit for the homerun. Or go for the sure thing Ignila. Jones is not going anywhere. Or Murphy. You can find a RHD somewhere else..

When we rewatch this draft in the future. Hawks are going to regret not selecting Demidov. Mark this words. Same for the ones that passed on Michkov. Chicago fans are going to get so upset tonight. Sorry.

The Hawks need, more than Dmen and more than forwards, great players. Period

Levshunov looks slow, kinda lazy, physically looks like seth jones in a hockey sweater...5 years from now youll know if Arty is a good defenseman or a solid number 4 or 5 on a team that cant hit or score

Blackhawks wasting 2nd overall for the 3rd best d man is absolutely wild.. Looks like Bowman never left with taking levshunov over Demidov. I'd rather have Zeev Buium over levshunov. He plays no defense and needs ALOT of work this will be a 3 or 4 years project.

@@garycochrane4829 Bedard needs someone on his level to play with. Demidov's ceiling is much higher than Levshunov. If Demidov is the next Kucherov, Hawks really blew it by picking a defenseman. We are not talking Cale Makar here.

​@edwardjonesjr2519 Well, if Demidov is the next Kucherov, SJS would be extremely stupid not to take him 1OA, as nobody is expecting Celebrini to become as good as Kucherov is. The problem is that Demidov is NOT going to be next Michkov and is NOT going to be next Kucherov - otherwise at least SOME scouts would have had him ahead of Celebrini, which is not the case. He may turn out to be the next Mitch Marner, but I would have a shot on a true #1 RHD over a Marner any day

@@MTLGSE Yes, he could be 140 pt player eventually. Russian players seldom get drafted first overall because of the BS North American media being able brainwash the low IQ population into thinking Russia is the enemy. The language barrier and KHL contracts also a factor.

Imagine drafting a player for personality before his fucking ability to play hockey.. what an absolute disaster of a draft.. lost all my faith in KD and monday will just confirm it.

D takes longer to develop .. You don’t need a fuckin dynamo offensively to be a number 1 defensemen.. you need defense. Why get someone who needs defensive work at defense.. get a Fuckin defensive defensemen

Lev isn't a dynamo offensively or a shutdown defensive D. He's an offensive leaning two-way defenseman who likes to get involved in all 3 zones. He doesn't have incredible dynamic skill like most high end producers. He also has some questionable defending at times. Strong skater and can get physical when he needs to.
