Yes. This is exactly what he expected. And why not? Are they not playing a set consisting of majority pre-Promised land songs? He can sit on his ass forever, if the current agreements had not been amended legally. Sounds like they weren’t, and Queensryche just decided to not pay him. Queensryche were two people; Tate and DeGarmo. When that ended, Tate tried hard to keep it together. When that failed, he left, too. So you get the three periphery guys now in charge of a machine that they were always bit players within, running the show. Of course you’re going to get weirdness. These guys are all accomplished musicians. That is never in question. But ask yourself; has there been a post DeGarmo hit? A post Tate resurgence? Nope. I hope Scott wins, and this band finally call it a fucking day. When you get Ratt with only Pearcy, Dokken with only two songs performed with Lynch, two different Great White’s, it becomes just sad. And it shows how these bands have fucked themselves by letting money get in the way of their music. They’re all millionaires. Money should never come between any of them. But it does. So retire…. Go solo… stop picking the carcass of the dead animal you used to be.

For everyone who gets in tears and still awaits for a Queensrÿche reunion I have to say that this will never happen because 1) Geoff Tate, under his management was after DeGarmo's departure, missed the identity the band had releasing albums which were indifferent musically and also begun appearing in cabaret shows which had nothing to do with metal let alone Queensrÿche's history and alienated the fans. Don't forget that Tate was responsible for spitting Rockenfield in the face, quarreled with Jackson, Wilton and Rockenfield and hired musicians to record OM II because the other three disagreed with the album's name. 2) Chris DeGarmo has changed his way of life and also the music he has participated, after departing from Queensrÿche, is artistic which will not gain or bring back the popularity of records such as Rage for Order or OM. Also the declining of quality in music begun with the release of the soulless and uninspiring Hear Now in which DeGarmo was still a member of the band. Enjoy the new era of Queensrÿche and attend a live

"Steal" from Rockenfield? He hasn't played or recorded with the band for the past 6 years. They're out there putting in all that hard work and he's chilling at home, does that sound fair to you? And of course they aren't going to take him up on the new ideas he sends to the band, because if they use it he's going to be able to collect royalties on it sitting at home while they're the ones putting in the hard work of recording and touring the new material. I can fully understand Wilton and Jackson's point of view that Rockenfiled has abandoned the band and no longer deserves his 1/3 share, because even though he put in all those years of hard work to establish the band, there is currently hard work that needs to be done to keep the band as a going concern and Rockenfield isn't doing any of that now - hasn't been for 6 years,

In a nutshell...Geoff Tate attempted to take the band in a SOFTER direction and then turn the band into hired players to his VISION....after they got rid of him for this (as well as some creative managing and accounting from his wife), one of the band members needed family leave for personal business (Scott Rockenfeld). While he was out of the band they (Eddie Jackson and Michael Wilton )hired replacements for him and other outstanding members of the band and apparently decided they loved not being able to be told no (as well as being able to get the "Queensryche' sound because they hired clones of the band in its original configuration(I have to say that Todd Latore sounds like Tate but has these DISTURBING NOSTRILS>>>>THEY TAKE OVER HIS WHOLE FUCKING HEAD AT TIMES ), because they PROMPTLY cut off communication and are not attempting to steal the rights for the band from Rockenfeld, the ONLY remaining member NOT THEM...THAT IN A NUTSHELL is what is going on! (there is a TON of writing on this and various issues from "The Spit Incident" to Operation Mindcrime 2, to touring as a vaudeville type act, for a Metal band they are the LEAST metal at this point,,,and I think the remaining two blame Rockenfeld for that as well as Tate....that last is just my opinion. But NOW they have 5 guys dedicated to the original sound and I do not believe they want anything to come back in and interfere with this. (at this point they are only talking through lawyers)

Not many fully comprehend the full scope of being a 100% professional musician. Meaning you do this for a living. First off all I'd say over 90% of musician aren't schooled in the legal aspects of their work, often this is where an agent or a manager comes in. But the extend of people with specific knowledge which the musician lacks goes much further. I've seen this happen so many times and it's becoming to be sort an inevitability, as most musician start young, paperwork is minimal, agreements not clear are contestable, or even absent being only oral agreements, handshakes. Now Scott finds himself in a situation which most likely arose because of faulty paperwork, bad communication or what have you. As where the original line up consisted of 5 musicians, they probably started out as legal equals, First Chris DeGarmo left which changed the legal status of all 5, then Geoff Tate was let go/left and by that time we saw the first evidence of shaky agreements, so now we're left with 3 , 2 new members joined, but on what financial/legal bases? then in between a newly joined member decides to call it quits as well and now Scott gets ejected and believes is still 1/3 owner. In many years the entire dynamics have changed, the legal and financial status has taken on , probably multiple times, new form. As probably no one knows exactly how things are now and what each member is entitled to after decades, not even speaking of future revenues, Scott has decided to bring this to a courtroom. Usually the place a musician's least likely place he wants to be. I do not pretend I know the full story, I'm simply pointing out the dynamics over years a group has been around and how time is something a musician doesn't have enough of to fully cover his legal and financial status from the start, especially if that jump to stardom comes which again changes everything. Being a musician at that level is not an easy thing. I hope for Scott and his adversares they can resolve things.

With all of the drama that's been going on with QR over the years I don't expect anything ever happening with Reunions or something to that extent of seeing the original band back together. Too many egos clashing it's probably for the best to take QR as they are now and just keep the memories alive and well with the records, studios and live ones both fresh in the minds of the fans. We're not in on the real drama that is going on behind closed doors if they are having problems let them fix it if they want to it's not for us as fans to decide. I look at it this way, if you still enjoy what they are doing now, awesome. If you hate it, then move on. I've done that with another favorite band I liked and got sick of the drama and moved on. Best to stay out of it and enjoy the music.

He started the band and has every right to return. outing him is something I don't think would have happen if it wasn't for the new singer Todd. I think he had a say in the drummer replacement. instead of kicking him out they should have give him the time he needed to do what needed to be done. Hire a temp until his return. that's what should have been done. be smart its a brand that requires all the names in that brand that makes it strong.

First, nothing that "Queensryche" has done since Chris DeGarmo quit interests me. Yeah, yeah, Geoff Tate may be the voice - but Chris was the main songwriter, the driving force and directing intellect of the band - and without DeGarmo, it just isn't the same music. Especially considering that the band name came from one of DeGarmo's songs that he wrote by himself, I feel like they should have just hung up the name when Chris left and moved on to a new name with the new lineup. When they fired Geoff, they definitely should have quit as Queensryche (not saying Geoff should have the right to it - still think both sides should just hang it up) and just kept on as Rising West. Oh, HITNF? I admit when it first came out, I didn't like it that much... but I've gone back to it, and it's grown on me over the years. Damn good album actually, and DeGarmo was way ahead with what he was trying to pull off in the song-writing. Shame most people don't appreciate that. Regarding Rockenfield vs Wilton/Jackson? Kind'a saw this coming... the amount of treachery and fuckery between bandmates when it was Wilton/Jackson/Rockenfield vs Tate makes it not surprising that the remaining three are breaking out the knives on each other now. It does not reflect well on any of them as people, though. But since they're not making music I care about, whatevs. Grab some popcorn, watch the show... Also, since the discord, dysfunction, and all around disruption between Tate, Jackson, Rockenfield, and Wilton goes way back - it's one of the three cited reasons why Chris DeGarmo quit (the other two being that he'd already done just about everything he wanted to achieve musically with QR, and he deliberately chose his wife and family over carrying on with the band - there's a reason Chris DeGarmo is the only one associated with Queensryche who's only been married once and never had a divorce) - also not a surprise that they can't manage to get along with each other. DeGarmo has stated in interviews going back as far as Empire that he was frustrated and not at all happy with the extremely dysfunctional personal relations between the other four members of Queensryche. Again, really not a surprise that Rockenfield and Wilton/Jackson are turning on each other now that Tate's out of the way.

Apart from what this video is about, I kind of feel sorry for all you guys who can't accept that members go and gets replaced over the decades. How many bands that are still going from the 80s have their original lineup? I'm a Queesryche fan since way, way, back, and I think all the post Tate albums have been good. Not as good as their best back in the days, but better than anything they did with Tate post Promised land, and way better than some of the last albums DeGarmo was involved in. They *sound* like Queensryche again, and after the absolute drivel of the later Tate years, I had actually given up. Then came Queensryche in 2013 and I was floored. That was actually a really good proper QR album. Tate was truly peerless in his prime. But Tate was also the guy who fucked QR well and truly up. So real kudos for Wilton, Jackson and Rockenfield that they managed to dig themselves out of that abyss. Then it's just a pity that it had to come to this legal shit. But I still watch - and really enjoy - Queensryche whenever they come to a stage nearby. And I truly hope they'll keep going for many years to come.

Geoff, Scott and Chris had excellent taste in music, and they're the reason that QR's best albums exist. And as much as it pains me to do so, I'll give them and the band as a whole a mulligan on that god-awful 'Empire' travesty strictly because the three albums and 4 song EP that preceded it buy a LOT of grace and goodwill with me. That, and playing along with Scott note for note as a teenager helped to shape my OWN playing style. Dude was Stewart Copeland on steroids. Glorious.
