This was awesome. I am not as much a process junky as I am an art history junky. Hearing about the old boys using copper was a spark in my brain. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for this! I have a class project to paint using unusual techniques and I think I’m going to give this a shot.
Thanks for your video, love that you make pieces that are meant to be appreciated fully in their physical form. I dream of having one of your work on my walls !
Love your work, love your curiosity, love the video. I have worked with many substrates including metal so I could really appreciate this. Thanks so much!
Omg your work is real lovely
Ohhhh shiiiiit....how did I not know you had a KZread channel?! STOKED!😍
I love your work so muchhhhhhh. Also your process has always been fascinating and i loved the break down in this video.
Love it!! Most of the joy derived from creating art is actually the journey... Also, that effect you get from the engraving is why I love using metallic paints like gold and copper, they change with the light... So I can definitely relate. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Perf! Just what I wanted to know about paint AND found a new artist to follow. Thanks!
omg yes, subscribed, I love watching you talk about your work!

Woah! Thought to myself if there was anyone doing this these days, glad I've found you - now I have been looking through some of your vids, great work!
love your illustrations on dripping fang!!
Amazing work man! Love it
So so so beautiful
Has anyone told you you're handsome!!? Lol... Robert from Wentworth ... great work
Great video, love your artwork. The use of copper as a substrate for an oil painting however, dates back to Medieval times (more than 500 years ago). The Flemish masters and other artists including Jan Breughel the Elder, Claude, El Greco, Guido Reni, Guercino, Rembrandt, Carlo Saraceni, Ambrosius Bosschaert II, Copley Fielding and Vernet painted on copper. Look up the Dutch Fijnschilders "Finepainters".
Gorgons work !
Thank you 😊
You seem really passionate about the copper.. you’ve inspired me to try! Haha shall I tag you when I do?
Hi Scott, love your engraving painting...What tools do you use and do you have an instructional video on that specific copper etching painting?
Great work, man! Do you prepare the surface of the copper before painting on it? Is it possible to remove those fingerprints that appear on copper plates? I would love to hear more about your process. Congratulations from Brazil.
thanks for vid! beautiful paintings! Im excited to get a sheet of copper and try a painting on it! Can I just go into a builders yard and ask for a sheet of copper? Do I need to ask for a certain thickness or grade or spec? Thanks a million 🙂
My parents have that SAME freakin Japanese branch and birds painting on the back left wall in their house, holy crap 😂
Unrelated, but thanks for the idea of where to hang my guitar and bass :D
Where do you buy those copper plates? It should be pretty expensive isn't it?
Have you ever made your own tools? If so, do you prefer store bought or personalized? Awesome video btw.

Thanks for watching. I have not made my own tools for this yet, but have had to make some 'specialty' tools for working on cars. I should try it!
Exposed copper will change color in time. I wonder of he does anything to prevent this.
How do you seal it?

Hi there. I seal it under Gamvar Varnish. Thanks for the question.

@@scottfischer7636 do you wait 6 months after to varnish? I’ve been told this is the case which seems very Discouraging for commission based work. Also while I’m replying , where do you get your panels from. I’ve seen some dull ones being sold online but there are some artists that paint on some that look almost mirror like. Thank you for your time by the way.
