Scott Baio - Adam Carolla Show 3/3/22

Комедия

00:00 Part 1
At the top of the show, Adam shows Bryan and Gina a scene from the Russell Crowe boxing flick, ‘Cinderella Man’. They talk further about the true story of Max Bayer, as well as his son, Max Bayer Jr. Erik Huberman then joins the podcast to talk with the gang about the importance of branding and marketing. Later, they talk about the new world order of social media and ‘influencers’, consistency of messaging, and navigating the world of outrage culture.
41:16 State of The Union Highlights
Before the break, Gina reads highlights from the State of the Union address, as well as the latest headlines about Ukraine and Russia.
59:55 Scott Baio
Adam welcomes Scott Baio back to the studio at the top of Part 2. The guys begin their one-on-one conversation talking about Scott being on TV for the last 50 years, and how to stay humble amidst success. Scott also discusses almost getting fired from two different Garry Marshall shows, and his experiences being recognized by his television persona. Later, the guys talk Covid, Trump, and people being controlled by fear. In the last part of their conversation, Adam and Scott discuss dude vs. chick think, and having a strained relationship with your parents.

Why? because they kow tow for the left? Just asking. I just started listening to Adam again(fan of loveline) but I've noticed those two make very ignorant comments and get away with them. 20 years ago, Adam would have killed them, but he seems not to notice. Not as funny or even correct as the old Loveline I guess.

Max baer was a comedian, often referred to in boxing circles as the clown prince. He said he defined fear as "standing across the ring from joe lewis and knowing he wants to go home early" adding "he hit me 18 times while i was in the act of falling". In the last moments of his life, he called down to the front desk of the hotel he was staying in and asked them to call a doctor. When asked if he wanted the house doctor, he replied "no, a people doctor", then collapsed and died. Even his last words were a joke. He also acted in some movies after boxing, but he was always trying to make people laugh.

The reason apologies not work is because the culture has changed and we have become horrible. I own a very small business sometimes every once in a while somebody will say the customer is always right and I will remind them that that’s from the 50s before people were trying to screw each other over at every turn. So now when you do something good like apologize you get attacked for it and then we wonder why politicians won’t reverse themselves at Covid or admit they were wrong because they know they’ll be attacked because they are the people that attack it’s our culture it’s horrible. One of the best things you can do is apologize admit you were wrong it feels great.
