SCOTLAND TRAVEL (2023) | 10 Beautiful Places To Visit In Scotland (+ Itinerary Suggestions!)
Scotland is the most northerly part of the four areas that make up the United Kingdom. It’s known for rugged landscapes defined by mysterious lochs, magical mountains, and gothic castles. Scotland also has a strong culture featuring Celtic music, traditional kilts, and sophisticated whiskies. In this video, we show 10 of the best places to visit in Scotland.
10. Edinburgh
Edinburgh is located in the south-east and it’s Scotland’s most beautiful and interesting city. This is the place to take in the unique Scottish culture, with a vibrant pub scene and intriguing historic sites.

9. Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park
Situated approximately 60 miles or 96 kilometers to the west of Edinburgh, Loch Lomond & the Trassachs National Park is the oldest national park in Scotland. It’s one of the most popular places to visit thanks to its proximity to urban areas as well as a wide variety of activities.

8. Glencoe Valley
Glencoe Valley is located in the Scottish Highlands in western Scotland. The area is known for its impressive mountain scenery, beautiful waterfalls, and trails that climb steep peaks, such as the Pap of Glencoe.
7. Glen Nevis
Located right outside the town Fort William, Glen Nevis is one of the most spectacular and beautiful glens in the Highlands. Above all, it’s home to Britain’s highest mountain: Ben Nevis, which is an impressive day hike.
6. Glenfinnan Viaduct
Only a stone's throw away from Glen Nevis and Fort William, the Glenfinnan Viaduct is a must-visit in Scotland! Made famous in the Harry Potter films, this 21-arched viaduct is set amongst some of Scotland’s finest scenery!

5. Inverness
Inverness is the northernmost city in the United Kingdom and is regarded as the cultural capital of the Scottish Highlands. Similar to Edinburgh, the city has a fantastic pub scene with great live music in the evenings.

4. Loch Ness
Located only a short drive from Inverness, Loch Ness is one of the most famous places in all of Scotland. The legend of the monster called Nessie goes back to ancient times.
3. Eilean Donan Castle
The Eilean Donan Castle is one of the most photographed castles in the world for a good reason. It’s perfectly situated on a small island with a charming curved bridge connecting it to the mainland.
2. Old Man of Storr (Isle of Skye)
Skye is the second largest island in Scotland and in our opinion, it has the most picturesque views you’ll encounter on your trip. The Old Man of Storr is the most iconic sight on the island and attracts many hikers and tourists alike.
1. Quiraing (Isle of Skye)
Quiraing is located on the Northern end of the Isle of Skye and boasts some of the best natural views in all of Scotland. The jagged landscape was caused by a landslip, which exposed strange rock formations underneath a large cliff.

Thank you for showing off my country. I live up in Inverness (used to live in Fort William). I'm impressed you managed to pronounce the places right, but you still have trouble with "loch" lol (don't worry, even Scots have trouble with it sometimes). May I recommend going in April-June if you want the best months for festivals, weather and springtime? I'd also like to recommend some places I quite like that are smaller in scale but still lovely: Nairn (especially the beach), Glen Affric (one of the filming locations of Detective Pikachu), Route 500 (please keep it clean, lots of tourists litter), John o' Groats (puffins!), Glasgow (for the culture hotpot that it is), the general Gairloch area (Ullapool and Poolewe included). I'd like to give a soft mention to "The Whisky Trail" which is along the east in Moray towards Aberdeen (since you mentioned Harry Potter a lot in this video, Dufftown was also mentioned in Harry Potter which is also worth a sneaky visit for whisky) and a quick mention to House of Bruar along the A9 if you want to buy touristy stuff (care on the price, but it's top quality...also the small chip shop there sells lobster), it's also in an area that has lovely scenery and hiking spots. One last mention to the gorgeousness that is the Cairngorms which features skiing, Aviemore, Loch Morlich, the Highland Wildlife Park (they take good care of their animals) plenty nature trails and Rothiemurchus: a protected forest that is part of the last 1% of original ancient woodland.

I don't want to be too much of a noodge, but a couple of small points: One would not ever say "Glencoe Valley" since Glen means Valley. So it is simply Glencoe or Glen Coe. One would not refer to Loch Ness or any other lochs as being Lakes. They are lochs.

As a Lanarkshire lad and sometime Glaswegian, I hope you make it back one day to explore the west and south west as well as our islands. The Ayrshire coast is stunning and with its history of Rabbie Burns is well worth a visit. Glasgow is perhaps not as pretty as Edinburgh but if you dig deeper, it has a wee bit more soul with vibrant communities in the south side and west end.

We were there during November. Wouldn't really recommend that time of the year as the weather is super variable and unpredictable. Better timing would be somewhere between May - October.
Hi guys, loved the video! Will visit in May but have only 5 days available so will probably limit to Edi, Inverness, Skye and Glencoe and even that seems too ambitious. I couldn't find "the links on the description" that you cited a couple of times🤔! Thanks!
@worldwildhearts
Жыл бұрын
If I only had 5 days I’d limit it to Edinburgh, Glencoe and Skye. Inverness is quite out of the direction. Spend a day or 2 in Edinburgh and then drive to Skye with a quick stop in Glencoe and at Eilean Donan. Spend then a day or 2 in Skye before probably heading back to Edinburgh to fly out? The links can be found in the description of the video. When you scroll under the video you’ll see the video title. And under that it will have the viewer count, and you can click “more”. This opens up the description and we added the info there!

It’s a bit challenging indeed! We’re not going to lie… we were a bit nervous around the cities because there’s much more traffic and way too many roundabouts! We got used to driving after a few days and visited the cities more at the end of our trip
Many in Scotland dislike the renaming of Scottish place names after the Harry Potter films ,
@AHylianWarrior
Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say that. It's just an easier way to attract tourists. You get a lot of tourists who'll go location spotting for films even if they don't care for the series itself, they just like the feeling. The real problem is when people go to these locations and defile them because they're fans of a certain series and "want to leave a mark" (looking at you, Outlander fans)

Ok .. so flying a drone in the UK, I guess specifically Scotland. Difficult? Risky? Typical? No big deal? I've had drones here in the states for years and pretty familiar with FAA rules and regulations. Currently using DJI Mini 3 Pro so it's under 250g.
