Honestly I think even this question is part of the problem.. it's always been more about England than the other home countries. It's just.. expected by the English that Scotland, Ireland and Wales should support them. I'm from Manchester, support England, but every time I see this question I can't help but think why I never heard it the other way around 🧐

You have to understand that Scotland still relies on English media for almost all of it's football coverage outside of Scotland. Can you imagine how irritating it would be having to watch every game listening to another nations football pundits constantly bumming up their own game while dismissing the quality of yours. I mean it's right for English pundits to do that for their own audience, it is just a pity that Scots are also put through that, lol. Therefore Scots love to see those same pundits brought down a peg or two.

I hope Rooney does more of this Overlap shows. He has an insight into the game, which is both a breakdown, but also an overview style. Reminds me of an AFL coach. He isn't too loud or arrogant either but picks his words where it doesn't insult, but it makes you think and understand.

Being honest, mate, i really don't think the Scottish lads were up for it. They wanted to be. England were far better that night, there's no question of it, they destroyed us, even though Maguire did his best to keep us in it, but That wasn't the Scotland we'd watched in qualifying games. There was a definite lethargy about them. By the way, that's taking nothing away from England, they were up for it, and it showed, and they played as well as i've seen England play in 45 years of watching football.

Germany not mentioned once? Sure, there are questions marks about them and are on a poor run in recent tournaments, but they are at home, have a good manager and some brilliant players: Gundogan, Kroos, Kimmich, Musiela, Sane, Havertz, Wirtz and other Leverkusen players coming off the back of an unbeaten domestic season, and Dortmund players getting to the CL final.

Well, a mix of deeper lying and more forward players. Probably where they are strongest. Kimmich is likely at RB in a defence with Neuer, Rüdiger, Tah. Fullkrug is no Gerd Müller but then again not many teams have a top quality ‘traditional striker’ these days

yeah I meant Portugal 😅 England are very likely to play a double pivot, which will provide them with a base to build upon They have enough quality upfront to beat teams as long as they show up

Wouldn’t surprise me if Scotland get a result against Germany, if I was given a bet, then maybe 1-0, 2-1 to Scotland.. Always wanted Scotland to do well, most English fans do because the Scottish lads play in the premier, it’s total bs to think otherwise..
