Greatest German band. And I laughed so hard in the beginning

Great song, great band and awesome live.. It was a great experience... The 80s was the best time to be a teenager with great music like this!

The sad thing about Scorpions is too many people think this was their only hit they have had numerous great albums since early seventies all the way to 2015 and rumers are they are back in the studio for their 19th studio album they also have 6 live albums and 29 compiliation albums Rock you like a hurricane isn't even their best song it just got the most attention.

Well maybe you have to be German / Russian to get more of them hits. They were big in Russia as well. For me it began with Wind of change of course they were around already quite a bit. But that is one of the BIG songs.They even had a song with Tarja Turunen some ten years ago

nope the album is called sting in the tail there is an appearance of the band with tarja performing the good die young at Wetten dass in 2010 on youtube

Yes. If you ever listened to metal. Or lived in the ’80s then you knew 8 out of 10 songs from ” Love at the first sting ” by heart even without owning the record.

1990 in Berlin...that's is so meaningful. Remember that the wall of Berlin fell in 1989. If you have not seen Scorpions alive, please check their performance in Roger Water's The Wall...super cool!

This song brings memories of my college days in Tampa when I was in my early 20's. I remembered rock station 1st released this song on air during Springtime of '84.

I got to see the Band live in Germany in 1982 while in the Army, What a great show loved them since their 1st Album!

Fantastic group.

the best version of this song is the one they did with the berlin philharmonic orchestra. mind fucking blowing :)

Oh my friends, them's my boys. lol I'm thrilled you're doing the best band I've had the pleasure to know...well I haven't known many famous ones. LOL Anyway, the words to this song are pretty naughty and it's all Herman Rarebell's fault. The Drummer. He is to "blame" for some of their more controversial lyrics. And we Scorpies love it!! This song is always played on their encore, even today. And when they go back out on tour after dropping their new album, it will STILL be played because it's just what the fans demand. Thank you for your Reaction, I'm proud of my special association with them and the 10 years I did fan-based promo for them and the guitar player, Matthias Jabs' guitar store; MJ Guitars in Munich. BTW, nowadays it doesn't have the same technological complexity as it did in the 80s because guitar playing has become so advanced....but back when Matthias composed this, it was considered very technical and most bands couldn't duplicate it very well. MJ, as he's called, did other complex riffs and solos that have pretty much gone unnoticed, except by bands who knew better, and he was considered by some rock mags back then to be one of the top 5 guitar players. Unfortunately he is so very underrated and ignored by the rock world and the whole band has pretty much been dissed by America. In the rest of the world however, they are huge. Many awards from all over. And yet they still haven't even been remotely recognized by the RRHOF. Even if they've been going since 1965. And album wise since 1972. Sorry to make this long but I have to add this proud moment for them: 2016, Vegas Classic Rock Awards, Scorpions were given the Lifetime Achievement Classic Rock Award and there were several 80s bands and musicians there who got awards also and they all gave honor and kudos to the band who gave them such influence to their own music. I was not even sitting with the band and yet I was beaming and cheering, as if I was with them or something. LOL Anyway, thought I'd give a little bit of background, hope you don't mind. You got to work with the Scorps? That had to be the coolest job of all time. I'm a lifelong fan (thanks, Janette). Everything you said about them is right on point. They are criminally underrated.

@@dancrabbe6423 yeah it was pretty cool. 10 years. I no longer do it and communication has dwindled significantly. But I still keep in touch with MJ from time to time. Klaus was the best person ever to meet and he always treated me like a queen. I do miss them a lot.

great timing you all reacting to Scorpions the last 2 days I have listened to every ballad and yesterday I listened to the rockers all the way from Lonesome Crow through Pure Instinct albums Today I am listening to the others from Eye II Eye, Unbreakable, Humanity Hour I, Sting in the tail, and return to forever albums.

drummer herman rarebell wrote this song, great song writer, wrote some of their greatest songs, rock u like a hurricane, make it real(my fav), blackout, arizona, etc rock u like a hurricane-herman opens the shades after spending the night w/ a hooker, its early morning, the sun is out, blah blah, the cat is of course the hooker

I went to that concert tour too back in 1984. I only knew the song “Runaway” by Bon Jovi. After they sung that, we were all chanting “Bring on the Scorpions!”

Yes the Scorpions are a great band a lot of good music to pick from but a suggestion do something from Iron Maiden

Reacting to the poor version... Try the Berlin philharmonic one.

I have to say that Scorpions are just embarrassing nowadays. A geratriche pension band with a singer who no longer has the voice to bring 2 songs reasonably over the rounds. The last rock in rio gig says it all. The really bad thing is that these guys led me to harder music. Blackout was the record that turned me into a metaller or hard rocker at the tender age of 11. Absolutely unmatched albums were replaced by horrible records with zero inspiration or musical development. Fly to the rainbow, Virgin killer, In trance, Tokio tapesm which is an absolute live board, Lovedrive, Animal Masgnetism, Blackout and Love at first ting are highlights of music history. In addition, with World Wide Live one of the best live albums of all time. But then it became cruel. And yes it is true that with Uli Jon Roth after Tokyo Tapes a musical mastermind was missing. Matthias Jabs is a great guitarist but he is not Uli Jon Roth who brought an insane input into the band. And you should know when it's over. They've been on a farewell tour for what feels like 10 years now. They milk the cow to the last drop, as we say in germany.
