The energy in this video is contagious! Some of the moves these guys do while playing guitar/singing and not messing up is honestly incredible. It’s even more Incredible with the fact that they are playing at a faster tempo then the original song!

Matthias's energy back in the day was unbelievable, he made it look easy swinging and dancing while playing guitar!! I play a little guitar myself and trust me it ain't that easy, let alone playing it right. The man was amazing, of course Rudy is an animal on stage and still is today.

I can do his moves and dancing. Its not easy but i learned those couple years. i imitate his style when i play guitar. (for example, I play their gigs and, like Matthias, I play them and so on.

Look at about 3:08 after Matthias finishes his solo...he is flying over the monitors backwards and lands with no problem. These guys did this so much they could do it in their sleep.

Blackout was metal for its time. Immigrant song from Led Zeppelin was metal for 1969. Scorpions have plenty that borders on heavy metal. Doesn’t have to be dark, speed, or power metal to be heavy metal

They’re best classified as a classic hard rock band who have some heavy songs, some ballads....or lots of heavy songs and lots of ballads, and some in betweens. Sails of Sharon was heavy metal for 1970s. They delved slightly into nu metal on humanity hour 1 album on some of the songs. Unbreakable has a few heavy ones. Alien nation was definitely heavy. Sting in the tail has a few heavy ones

Wrong. There was even a cartoon movie Heavy Metal way before the late 80s. Judas Priest would be one of the first true heavy metal bands, out of the 70s, and then Iron Maiden shortly after, but heavy metal was coined and applied well before Judas Priest. You named primarily thrash metal bands. Heavy metal is very varied over a wide array. Black Sabbath was heavy metal. Metallica by 1983 was heavy metal. Do you think that people around before 1987 didn’t know what heavy metal was? There were heavy metal music magazines in the 70s. New wave of British heavy metal was late 70s early 80s. Over time, things get watered down. Enter Sandman doesn’t seem as heavy as it once was. Cowboys from hell doesn’t sound as heavy as it once did. But, there comes a point where it’s no longer melodic, and the singer just growls and shouts instead of singing. Heavy metal is a very general and wide term. Heavy metal is generally more melodic than thrash or speed metal. The guitars are loud. The pace is varied. But there’s usually a melodic chorus and a guitar solo involved. Many hard rock bands had some heavy metal songs. Heavy metal is simply something loud, loud guitars and drums. Aggressive guitar riffs. Pace isn’t as important as much as the loudness and the riff of the guitars for it to be heavy metal. Dio was heavy metal. Early 80s. He was heavy metal before then with Black Sabbath. Not all of his songs were fast. Some were. Some were slow. Heavy metal in general can still fall under rock music, but it’s a step above in hardness over hard rock.

Matthias Jabs is one of the most underrated guitarists of all time.

The little boy on that guys shoulders reminds me of when my nephew was on my shouders at the Day on The Green back in 82. He was 7 at the time. Scorpions headlined. GOOD TIMES!!!

For many of us, the Moscow peace Festival was the first time we'd ever seen The Scorpions. They made a huge impression on me, and will forever be associated with this incredible time when communism was starting to fall in the east

End of cold war between Soviet and Western! This festival is one of the greatest festival ever!

I grow up with Scorpion, Deep Purple, Guns n Roses and Nirvana 😎🇮🇩

Saw these guys in 2004. They ROCK HARD. One of the loudest bands I've seen. Highly Recommend. Crunchy kick ass Guitars turned up to 11 with perfect distortion, a singer with a voice he must have sold his soul to the devil for. And always a hard driving rhythm section. Love Live The Scorpions.

Pity you missed them in their prime. Last time I saw them was '89 and I want to remember them that way!

Every band on this tour (every incredible band) had to follow this. Scorpions set the bar so damn high. Still one of the best/most consistent love bands I’ve ever seen.

Omg. I saw these 5 rows back from the stage at Birmingham odeon U.K. in 1982 on the Blackout tour... superb . God I felt I had my moneys worth that night.. bloody amazing band live

One of the best band from Europe!

It was this concert that inspired Klaus to write Wind of Change after seeing how much the USSR had changed a year since they played in Leningrad the year before. If I could go back in time just once, I would go and see this.

They played in Moscow, not Leningrad. This is Moscow music peace fratival. Leningrad (todays St. Petersburg) is completely different city.

Couple years after that Soviet Union and Warsaw pact disbanded. Hopefully the same thing will happend to U.S.A. and Nato, because every empire that rules the "free world" should disappear.

They were supposed to play 10 concerts in the USSR in 1988: 5 in Moscow and 5 in Leningrad. The 5 concerts in Moscow were moved to Leningrad because the sovietics authorities did not like the idea of a big rock party coicinding with a national army event at the red square or something and then a riot could make a break out in Moscow. So, they played 10 sold out concerts only in Leningrad and the rest is history...

Klaus is loaded with so much talent , he sounds great live

Been a fan since 1983, and these men always put out fantastic albums and performances.

This is the true Scorpions. Yes, it is 1090 and their hair is getting thinner but man when the song starts and Klaus is tapping his leg maniacally you know its on. And Mattias is on fire. Their all on fire. One of the finest versions or Black Out I've ever heard not doubt they were pumped up to be playing and breaking the chains in Russia. They were the first.

Absolutely agree. This album introduced me to the Scorpions and I've loved them ever since. Great album cover too!

Just saw these guys June 10th 2023 in Lodz, Poland, 34 after this and they still rock. Incredible show. Can't believe Klaus is 75! And they are still putting out new music - Rock Believer! Been a huge fan since Love at First Sting, will always remember No One Like You and Rock You Like a Hurricane in the MTV rotation constantly.

So thankful to have grown up during the best music 60's thru the 90's.

Makes my blood boil again, driving to Scorpions music for hours, had all their tapes, such an exciting earlier time, then I got to see them in concert! WOWWWW!
