OGs remember that NHL 13 had a cover vote. So EA didn't choose the cover athlete (unless they rigged it to only get traffic to their websites).

Man undeservedly though, 95 ovr after coming off 2 seasons where he wasn’t even top 30 in scoring. I’d understand a 95 overall coming off one of his 97 point seasons in 07 or 08

NHLP93 for SNES and Genesis had overall ratings. As did NHL 94.

Strange that Teemu was the one and only Duck player, then niedermayer scored in a ducks uniform.

Sakic was just ridiculous in his prime and he had great longevity as well, still productive into his later years

I live in Swift Current, Joe Sakic's wife is from here, and they come to visit her family every summer. Once when I worked at the car wash as an Attendant, I met Joe Sakic. It was just after we opened on a Saturday morning, and this guy came in as i was at my stand, and he was was having trouble with the change machine, his bill wasn't working, but i seen him and I knew who it was instantly. Instead of making a big scene i just grabbed $5 from the till, went over and said "that machine doesn't work so great sometimes" and then exchanged his bill for some loonies. I just nodded, and he nodded back, i didn't ask for an autograph or freak out or anything but he knew I knew who he was and it was cool.

Rookie or all star doesn’t even matter unless you put gameplay to sim. Play on all star all day long and get 10+ goals a game if you have gameplay set to arcade, which he surely did. On pro with sim gameplay I have trouble getting 5-6 goals sometimes even held scoreless. Much more fun

Crosby has more points with 100 less games. Ovi is amazing but also sits on the circle for a one timer. If Crosby didn't get so many concussions there is no saying how many more points he would have.
