    Hey Matt, I am from Boston, Massachusetts and I drove down more than two hours to go watch you play live for the first time. It was an amazing experience especially knowing now that it was your birthday and watching you score. It was also great to watch you go against a local player from my area that also got an assist. Great game from you both and good luck with everything!

    I was at this game. Matt you were killing it. Too bad about the result. You guys fought all the way. I brought my wife, my brother and my cousin, who are really into football/soccer very much, but they loved this match and way you guys played your hearts out. I've following you on the channel for about 6 years. It was so amazing to see you finally play in person. You are the real deal my man! Keep up the great work. I hope you are back in Hartford next season as well.

    Unfortunate loss. I'm sure it must be frustrating, but there are positives to take away as a team and individually. Some nice patterns of play, especially near the end of the game. Lovely goal!!! I love near post run, flat cross, little dinked looping header goals like that! I think a foul would have been really soft and a harsh call for your sides 3rd goal. As for the winner, well you usually don't save screamers like that 😮 near post but it looked like it was top corner and travelling very quickly. So unlucky, but keep working hard as a team and I'm sure the results will come. I'm sure it felt good to have your parents there to watch you score! Happy birthday btw 🎉

    As a defender that "bump into the attacker and then header" is so useful, i usually struggle with headers because im short and wear glasses so usually i just bump them right before they make contact and then try to either control it or let it over my head and rely on a teammate to get it

    Fascinating video. Their three in midfield against your two looks like an obvious problem - maybe a system change could have helped. But also, your centre mids gave you so few options to play into them - too far away and too passive from what I'm seeing here. Congrats on the goal, great movement and header!

    I notice that everyone is really good technically but lack tactics, the spaces aren't covered well enough and the space between the middle line and back line malfunctioned a lot. Those long balls to Elvis were great, but due to a lack of tactics, no one was there to help Elvis take control of that upper part of the pitch

    I played left back most of my life. I would always make sure that my center midfielders had great ability to hold the ball. And I would ask them to always check in for a pass to relieve the pressure coming out of the back. In this first half, your center mids were hiding on the defensive side of the pitch. I'n my option, it's hard to build momentum when you, as a defender is limited with options. Those long balls were pretty good, but I would value the ability to work the ball up the pitch with numbers. Especially when playing a team with disciplined back line. I've enjoyed all of your training information. It's been spot on. Peace my man.

    As a right-footed defender playing LB this video hits different. This is my 2nd season playing semi-pro for my local team and I’ve earned a starting spot at LB. Although a natural righty, I’m quite comfortable playing with my “weak foot” but I notice you utilize your right a lot so I must ask what’s the best course of action? Adapt to the side and position I’m given or find my way back to my dominant foot for efficient results? Thank your for your self-analysis.

    Correct me if I’m wrong, I’m a lot of these moments of “not being a defensive unit” the midfielders don’t seem to help out the defense. As a result, you’re kinda forced to press and against good teams, they know how to work around that press

  • @repliedfob4165
    @repliedfob41659 ай бұрын

    Those long balls to Elvis were spectacular 👏🏼👏🏼 just wish there was some with him so he could knock it down to :( he had to track back so much to retain possession that they recovered defensively. I think your team was a little too conservative after breaking the press and instead of countering y’all retained possession. It’s a good move, you don’t have trouble scoring lol. Defensively I think you were unlucky for the goals on your side. By matching their press you were more likely to be out of position. You recovered well but being in transition is a little harder to defend than being set. Super tough game, y’all did great!! Congrats on the goal!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

    Good job Matt, Pittsburgh game system based on high-pressing in all areas of the pitch is great. Your team needs to work more on moving to the open space and work on the first touch to deal with high-pressing. To have to move in blocks. In many occasions, there were more yellow players rather than green players following the ball.

  • @josearturojimenez5638

    Hey Matt just a recommendation you can do to your coach when a team is high pressing like Pittsburgh your team full backs and winger should play wide to create more space in the midfield and play 2 or 1 touch, you guys started doing that like in minute 20 and started having more ball possession

    Q:A If your team wins and performs well but you individually don’t perform are you happy? At the end of the day it’s a team sport but if we perform bad individually in a good team performance we should feel mixed feelings. Am I selfish if I am happy if I play good and we lose? For example we lose 4-3, I score 3, I’m happy, is this bad?

    Your 6 and 8 were playing far too deep for you to get an attack going. There were never any central midfielders when you got the ball. When they actually did show to get the ball, it always went negative. You actually kept saying it, your only option was to play long or go negative. Only seeing the short highlights, I would’ve subbed or rotated them as they didn’t really seem to want the ball.

    Hey! Great video! Just wanted to say that, despite knowing that you have a great motor, you seem to eager to press and that leads you to being out of position, which is very clear in the third goal. I don't know if its a coach order or a feeling you have in game, because to be honest your midfielders don't seem to defend a lot in the wide areas, which isn't helpful for you. Keep up the great work!
