34 years ago my now husband sent me a bouquet of flowers in the FTD rainbow mug with a card that said "Smile, it's Friday" anonymously then asked me out on the phone. I had no idea who he was, it was a blind date for me. I was a secretary at the printing company he worked at. We have been married 32 years this past Sept 1. 🥰🌈🌻

The adrenaline rush is what we love about finding things in the wilds of Goodwill! Everything wonderful that you find there is unexpected. I just don't get the same rush in an antique mall where I know everything will be good.

This is a perfect job for you. When I get overwhelmed by all the things I need to be doing at home and with family and projects, etc., I want to head for thrift stores to relax and look for treasure. You get to do it as work so you don't feel guilty for not working on home stuff everyday as you are at work. PERFECT!!!

In 1973 I was working and a flower and gift shop and I can vividly remember pricing new inventory and it was Blenko glass items. I can’t remember pricing the exact piece that you had found at the beginning of your video. I don’t remember exactly how much it was, but it was about $30 or $40 new. I was thinking,”Oh my gosh that is so much money for this!” At the time gas was $.35 a gallon so you can see why I thought it was so expensive!

Yes- chips on the rim and black gunk on the outside are fine...you need to open it and see if the inside enamel is scratched off/cracked or if it is still intact! Black is fine but cracked /missing enamel on the cooking surface means no good for cooking...apparently collectors will still buy them though!

00:30 I _like_ the stenciled Windsor rocker. 00:45 Yes, IKEA or its ilk. 01:20 Proud of 'em, ain't they? 01:50 Oh, yes. So very Italian. 02:10 Trivet. Trivet. 02:40 I would snarf that Pyrex baking dish for personal use. 03:19 Whoo doggies! That piece says 1975 like nobody's business. 06:59 They're not even from the same pattern, much less a set. 5X is a Plainsman cereal/soup bowl (1948 and after) in the brown glaze, and 4P is a Lazy Bones pattern platter (1953 and after), also brown glaze. The mugs are Westwind pattern, introduced in the Sixties and discontinued in 1980. All are made with the brownish Sapulpa clay; I'd say the bowl and platter were made after the 1983 factory fire. The older Ada clay, which identifies pieces made before 1954, is more orange-y. 09:41 Does. 10:18 I can make out "Bennington, VT" on the second line, so I would venture that it's a Bennington Pottery piece. There are comps in Google images. 11:01 I'd back away. It has a made-in-China air about it. The rusticity is just a little too calculated. 13:33 Oh, Lord. JoAnn Fabrics. RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY!! 14:03 The lion is Anne Klein's trademark. 15:35 No, but it is an emoji. It's a solid tween fashion choice.

Scored sterling this weekend, but at a yard sale, not an ill will. Quimper and Deruta too - same place. Around here, finding anything worth buying in an ill Will is a huge surprise. Finding nothing but a waste of time is the norm.
