Very true! A part of us feels like it’d be similar but with a larger scale. There’s concept art of a load of monsters running through the cars during the scene where the evil masked figure is in the ghost ship so maybe it’d be like that

They did actually make the costume and there’s a deleted scene in the museum that gives a good look at it

out of all these monsters not seen in the final movie, I really do wish we would've seen Chickenstein come to life. Especially since he was set up at the beginning, could've made a good callback to it later in the movie and I just would've loved to see him interact with the gang, especially Shaggy and Scooby. He looks so cool too!

The voice sounds perfect in my opinion, humourous but still somewhat menacing and the fact he's carrying around a cleaver or whatever that knife what just adds to it Honestly, would've preferred Chickenstein to Miner 49r, honestly. Never really been a fan of that one

I think there were quite a few costumes that weren't brought to life. It's such a shame too, since some of the other monsters had merchandise like trading cards or something like that (Chickenstein, Headless Horseman, the Witch, Ghost Clown, etc.)

Yeah, since Velma was in the test footage with Chickenstein, I think he was going to get her for saying he was one of their ridiculous villains

I loved the first movie because of its original take around the classic Scooby doo cartoon and made it more on the nose of how real monsters can’t actually come to life by some creepy ritual. But the second one is just as good because it goes back to the original cartoon and uses science to recreate the classic monsters from the cartoon and actually bringing them to life.

It was nice that some of them were used as Statues in the Final Cut of the film, but kind of wish they joined the Army!

Man, I wish these were also used in the Final Cut of the film.

I wish I could find a Museum where these Scooby Doo 2 Costumes are at and take pictures with each and every single one of these Scooby Doo Monster's!

So the monsters that were planned to be brought to life but got removed due to budget constraints are the ozark Witch , The ghost clown, The headless horseman, redbirds ghost, Chicken stein, The creeper, And the mortician. As well as the witch doctor. This would have been interesting to see them in the film as well but if Lego and warner brothers ever collabed again I hope they make a video game based on Scooby-Doo 2 and include other monsters that were scrapped from the film.

I think a really cool idea is a game based off of James Gunn's films, the first episode is based off of the first film, the second is the second film, and the third is the second film from the villains perspective, and the minikits are minifigures of monsters not featured in the films.

Looking back on Monsters Unleashed, it confuses me why some costumes were present, yet never turned into real monsters in the movie? Like Creeper, Red Beard, and Chickenstein.

I feel like Ghost Clown would've been the scariest one

Redbeard's Ghost, the Ghost of the Creeper, and the Tiki Witch Doctor were the ones in the Scooby Doo Night of 100 Frights video game.

What ridiculous executive at WB decided The Creeper shouldn’t be in the movie?

Some of the actors for this played in Thir13ten Ghosts John DeSantis who played chickenstein also did Juggernaut, and C. Ernest Harth who played miner 49 also played the great child.

Not only this is cool, but the Scooby-Doo franchise should do a costume department store to make these outfits. Giving the costumes from the franchise a way to translate into real life. In a deleted scene of the museum, I saw Space Kook. Looked scary and realistic despite being a costume. Looking at this footage makes me wish they revamped Monsters Unleashed. Either in a graphic animation format or a live-action series based on it. A way to expand the concept. The plot would be dealing with the gang trying to capture the monsters that have been brought to life and turning them back into costumes one at a time. Using a device to contain them and turn them back. Almost a ghostbusters and goosebumps type of situation. I did like Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed. Just wish the monsters from the shows or the movies had some spotlight in the future. The possibility of them coming to life and changes to their design showed an interesting idea in it. Just theories and thoughts to consider. Thanks to anyone who reads this.

I Know Why We Didn't See Them In The Movie, Maybe They Were Too Many Monsters Or Maybe They Had Designs 0:11 0:53 1:52 2:28 3:18 4:26 4:55 5:08 That Were Too Scary For Younger Audiences

I imagine all of these monsters would have been used in the segment when they take over the city. I always remembered being curious as to what happened to the rest of the stolen costumes and who the Ghost Pirate Ship downtown belonged to. Makes sense that Red Beard was among the scrapped villains.

We think they would have been naturally integrated the same way as the 10K Volt Ghost etc, except perhaps there would have been more of a spotlight on practical monsters instead of the CGI ones we got, however, 100% after the decision was made to scrap these monsters in that capacity we would have loved to have seen them make a short cameo running in between the cars during the Pirate Ship scene or something. Definitely a real missed opportunity

Wait they have chickenstein in real life but didn't use it. I will deep fry someone for it

Monsters Unleashed has some of the best costume design I've seen in a movie. It's crazy, right? I love all of the patterns... Also, I love that cut scene where the Black Knight Ghost and 10,000 Volt Ghost break into the museum.

That's one Black Haired Ghost in blue clothing might be the Ghost Milo Booth, or also possibly the Ghost Racer from The Scooby Doo Show! But I wished we had someone portraying the Ghost of the Ozark Witch in this Movie with more scenes of her in the Scooby doo 2 Monsters Unleashed Film!

No, the ghost of Milo Booth is in the museum and looks nothing like that, neigther does the Phantom Racer. He is called the Mortician for some reason, but it's based on the ghost of Elias Kingston.

I always love to watch deleted scenes on 📀 and Blu Ray.

It will be cool if they put those monsters in the movie and it will be scary!!!

I always felt like the first scene was setting up for Chickenstein to show up at the end. Like, for real, this would've been a great pay off

Exactly. Matthew Lillard agreed the sequel was better than the first film. Having Mystery Inc. face against their old foes but with them being brought to life was a genius idea.

Before these monsters were nixed in pre-production, the following actors were cast to play them: John DeSantis as Chickenstein, Ty Olsson as Redbeard's Ghost, Paul Becker as Ghost Clown, Demord Dann as Witch Doctor, David Avalon as Pumpkinhead and John Rzeczycki as Mortician. The Creeper was to be played by Christopher R. Sumpton before it was dropped and the actor went on to portray The Zombie.

The guy you kept calling Voodoo guy is the Witch Doctor from a Tiki Scare is No Fair. And the guy you kept calling the Pirate guy is Redbeard's Ghost, and he totally should've been in the movie since his ship was in the movie. Also the Ghost Clown's appearance served us as a warning for the 2016 evil clown attacks.

I wish they included this in the bonus features. It would have been so cool to see the Creeper brought to life. Imagine him and Zombie together for something. And since Velma was with Chickenstein for that footage, I guess he would get back at her for calling a ridiculous villain. I am glad they changed up Miner 49er. He looked more like a ghost from Eddie Murphy’s Haunted Mansion. I wish the Ghost Clown’s suit was red like from the show, along with his hair being black. But if they kept him in the movie, kids like me and my sister would have been terrified.

Honestly, agree with most of this. We feel like it was a little bit of an oversight to not have swapped the Zombie with the Creeper given that the budget for both would have been pretty similar and function the same too

@@JayBeeMilly I think the reason why they decided to go with Zombie is so they could have him barf on the news reporter. Plus with the Creeper's massive hands, he would have easily grabbed Scooby when going under his legs thus preventing his pants dropping and revealing his underwear. I also think we could have gotten to see more of the classic Scooby Doo monsters if they didn't put money on creating monsters that weren't on the show like the Mermaid, The Mortician, and the Cotton Candy Glob. Don't get me wrong, they were cool looking monsters. But it also makes me wonder about the Cotton Candy Glob's history. After Scooby and Shaggy eat him, Shaggy says "Finally! A villain we can eat!" That makes it seem like they never faced the villain before. In addition, how did even defeat the Cotton Candy Glob when it was originally a guy in a suit if Scooby and Shaggy didn't eat him? Still though, I am glad with the monsters we did get to see. Like having the Black Knight Ghost since that is the first villain we ever saw for Scooby Doo. And Captain Cutler's Ghost is one of my favorites. If they did feature the Ghost Clown, imagine if they had him hypnotizing a bunch of people to do what the Evil Mask Figure says. Or even seeing the Green Ghosts flying all over the city. It also would have been interesting if Mr. Wickles, C.L. Magnus, Aggie Wilkins, and Timmy saw their monster costumes be brought to life. Mostly with Timmy in which he would see the Cotton Candy Glob waaaaay bigger than it was as the costume. Having Warner Bros. bring back the original villains and literally bringing them to life to become real monsters for Mystery Inc. to face was a genius idea.

You know the zombie supposed be taller and bigger he definitely was and he was always seen with the witch but that witch is not mentioned or seen there is couple new monsters like long arm men and mermaid despite those two being new there are not brought to life

We doubt that a little bit just because in order to have the computer animation in place it would all have been scripted and planned out beforehand. There's definitely a chance though and a pretty great question we should ask in a follow up

Scooby Doo 2 Monsters unleashed had this warrior Queen, and she wasn't from any of the past in the Scooby Doo franchise.

The Tar monster and the ten thousand volt ghost were the most lethal monsters in the movie due to obvious reasons. But if they weren't in the movie and we did get different monsters who would of been the most lethal monsters. Also chickenstien is a pup named scooby doo monster, the gang were kids in that show Shaggy and Fred being 11, Daphne being 10, Velma being 9 and Scooby being 1. Chickenstien was in the movie just as a costume so would this mean a pup named scooby doo is canon to the first two live action movies as well as scooby doo where are you and the scooby doo show

So I thought a bit on Scooby Doo 2 Monsters Unleashed ( What's New Scooby Doo styled ) and thought up 2 pairs of lethals 1.The Wakumi and Gusano Grande 2. The Glasburgh Dragon and the Chinese Dragon. Which is more likely to try to kill the gang?

Aside from that what other monsters out of the What's new scooby doo roaster would be perfect to bring to life in what's new styled version of the movie. And while I'm on the topic what about the movie styled after the best scooby doo incarnation Mystery Incorporated what monsters should be brought to life form that iteration

@@thomaselliottjohncampbell3024 I chose 23 monsters from What's New Scooby Doo for the army, add Shari and the dragons makes it 26, and like I said before Shari may bring 10 to life to capture innocent people to give her attention and when she desires more, she brings more to life, but I don't know how many monsters it would take to steal the Chinese dragon and have Shari revive it since the Glasburgh dragon is a robot.

Disappointed that they didn't include them in it. More disappointed that they didn't include all the of monsters in it
