It was formally designated a tiger reserve in 1956 and brought under Project Tiger in the year 1973. It was declared a biosphere reserve by the Government of India in June, 1994. It has been part of the UNESCO World Network of Biosphere Reserve since 2009.

Tigers are among my favorite big cats ever since the Disney villain Shere Khan from The Jungle Book 1967. These magnificent cats deserve there bloodline to continue as humanity does. I'd also sugest if scientists could make clones in order to save every species, especially about de-extinction of modern cousins from the past. Also thinking of building a true time traveling machine to travel to the distant past just collect blood samples from modern tigers' prehistoric counterparts in order to make de-extinct clones of them.

Dude tigers never show defensive mimicry or camouflage..They go for Offensive one ...They're the predators not prey ..

It's natural selection and it makes sense that a few tigers with relatively darker skin got undetected by hunters, they survived, produced offsprings, inbreeding took place and here is the result. It does not have any relation with prey or predator.

Even as a predator it help them hunt....as a yellowish brown tiger easily hide in the wheat field.
