Scientist Lives in Underwater Bunker, De-ages by 10 Years | Vantage with Palki Sharma

Scientist Lives in Underwater Bunker, De-ages by 10 Years | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Scientist Joseph Dituri spent a record-breaking 100 days underwater. When he emerged, his age had reversed by 10 years. Before the mission, 55-year-old Dituri’s biological age was 44. But his biological age reduced to 34 after he emerged out of the water. The diver lived in a bunker under the Atlantic Ocean as part of NASA study. He was living in a highly pressurised environment. High pressure can reverse the body's age down to the cellular level. So Dituri's health underwent remarkable transformation during the underwater mission. How did it happen? Is it possible to reverse age without living in an underwater bunker? Palki Sharma brings you the report.

I was just thinking "what about submarines?" There's not a valid source to avoid or reverse aging. Yes, you will probably live healthy until you are 90 years old but that is it. Even Bryan Johnson (who is spending millions trying to reverse his biological age) in his 46 years old looks worse than some 46 years older I know.

They already know about it. There are hyperbaric chambers being marketed for people to buy - not only billionaires use them, but also pro athletes who need to keep themselves at peak fitness. But you need a minimum of 80% increase over regular atmospheric pressure. The cheaper bag-style chambers where people just put themselves inside a pressurized bag only achieve barely 20% increase in pressure. The rich Hollywood star Mel Gibson took his sickly father to a special clinic in Panama, where they gave him a different anti-aging treatment based on MSCs (mesenchymal stem cells) and that also had a radical health-boosting effect. See his interview with Joe Rogan on youtube.

By profession, I am a software developer. I would love to share my experiences of living alone in the jungle for 89 days. Initially, I planned for a 60-day stay, but somehow I ended up staying for 89 days. During this time, I had no phone, no GPS, and was completely disconnected from the hectic modern life. Surprisingly, after just three days, my life began to change. My sleep patterns improved, my energy levels increased, and I even lost weight. My diet consisted of raw vegetables and leaves, which brought about a clarity of lifestyle I hadn't experienced before. I feel like I’ve become a younger, more vibrant version of myself. This experience made me realize how much we miss out on in our everyday lives.

This is almost like "KAYAKALPA" in Ayurveda , where the Patient leaves in a certain condition for 6 months without seeing Sun. Its often refers as a Rebirth. After this the Patient will looks Younger. One or two years before someone had undergone Kayakalpa in Kerala, I remember an article read at that time.

Submariners are subject to 1 ATM, even when the submarine dives deeper than 300 Meters. The hull of the submarine is designed to take on that pressure and is doing all the work. That's why submariners can open the hatch in the conn tower and get out of the sub as soon as it surfaces unlike saturation divers for example would die immediately if they did that, they were exposed to 11 ATM if they would do a job on the seabed at 100 Meters. You add 1 ATM every 10 meters you go deeper. So diving at 190 Meters would need you to stay at depth in a hyperbaric chamber pressurized at 20 ATM. Saturation diving is not healthy and AFAIK doesn't make you younger.

The idea of extending life may appeal to those in favorable financial and personal circumstances. However, for many people who are primarily focused on day-to-day survival, the prospect of prolonging life without significant improvements in world conditions might not seem as enticing. In a world perceived to have systemic inequalities and limited opportunities for the majority, the value of extended life can be seen differently. Therefore, for life extension to be universally appealing, it may require broader socio-economic changes that ensure equitable opportunities and quality of life improvements for all.
