Science Vs The System | The Future of Ageing | WIRED

Ғылым және технология

"You can go 3 miles in a city across the US, and see a 20 year difference in life expectancy depending upon the resources in one community compared to another".
In episode three of Wired UK's four-part documentary series, we explore the widening chasm between the scientific exploration of ageing and longevity, and the social and economic reality of the world in 2021. Through interviews with scientists, economists and sociologists it becomes evident that more needs to be done to close the gap between the 'haves' and the 'have-nots' if any real step forward is to be made in redefining humankind's ageing process.

I am on Metformin due to type 2 diabetes and I actually look quite young for my age. People say I look not one day older than 25 while I am 34.

So with just 40 $ you could delay cancer, strokes, dementia ... etc for 20-30 years. That should be very profitable for both public/ private health care sistems. I wonder what's the problem with that.

@@zzzzzzzzzzz6 I am writing to you from Europe. The savings that these advances would entail for public health systems is formidable.

They (USA chemists) have a chemical secret, unknown to Japan. How does Japan have long life, in their population?

It's just that people aren't really interested in anti-aging medicine. You probably have never heard of TRIIM, for example, and yet it has shown that reducing epigenetic age is possible in humans.
