+Frynker Murr I agree..that's what I like about him,he's so passionate about science,the universe,all of that..alot of people are turned off by his passion,they take it as him being arrogant..but IMO those people don't understand his passion for science and discovering things about the world we live in and beyond,and,I think those people are also jealous of his passion because they themselves have no passion for their life or anything in it...I LOVE,LOVE,LOVE Neil deGrasse Tyson,he is an AWESOME human being :D And he's SUCH a nerd,something else I love about him :)

+David Greene (Nøkkenbuer) That's understandable. Philosophy has a lot of guessing, predicting and it's very bias. He's a science guy. He likes dry facts. When he hears a philosophical idea he immediately asks ,,why?'' and if he can't get a straightforward answer it won't appeal to him.

Honestly, Neal is such a blast. He's one of the few people who know how to make science appeal to the general public, who otherwise wouldn't care about it.

+Norman Piper The undulations may have looked like a funny exaggeration to the audience because they're in a comedy show, but Neil Tyson really does use a lot of hand gestures when he explains things. I've seen tons of videos featuring Neil giving lectures, and the way he speaks and moves his hands looks exactly the same as they do when he's on Cobert. You can tell he's truly passionate about his work.

Allen Nance Well, I don't know anything about that, but now that you mention it, I do remember Tyson saying how he used to be a dancer in college. Maybe dancing was what nurtured his tendency to use hand gestures? In fact, he's still got the moves! Just Google "Neil deGrasse Tyson dancing" and you can see him for yourself. How that video DIDN'T go viral is beyond me.

I absolutely love how Prof Tyson has the ability to "dumb down" complex scientific principles for the masses. Easily the greatest living science communicator right now. I count myself fortunate to have met him in person

I love how people like Neil force everyone around them to take science seriously. There used to be that social phenomena of when a scientist speaks, comedians deliberately play stupid and do the "check out this nerd" thing. I'm glad that's going away. Having a highly scientifically literate population is hugely beneficial.
