My short film ANV is a compilation of Storytelling ideas and Sci-fi concepts I've had in my head for years. It also was a way to explore single artist independent animation workflows. Most of my animation career I've created short from commercial work. When I was coming up with the story and script I definitively made a huge effort to develop a longer narrative, this helped guide the visual approach for a very effective animation pipeline for a single artist. ANV was created to have a nonstop engagement narrative style without compromising story beats and dramatic rhythm. Even if you watch the film once, you will find more details on subsequent viewings. Thanks to everyone that has already given me overwhelming amounts of support. Jeb

@@jebcg I liked it! And you're right--'acta non verba' was definitely shown throughout the feature. I'd like to think these two become quite the odd couple, as the alien learns how to navigate and understand earthlings, and its new human friend is there to guide them. I'd also like to think that another branch of the ANV is always out there, trying to get them somehow.

Alien seemed like a chill dude
That was excellent. I got to hand it to ya, it must have been hard to write a story, that tells the story without uttering a word. The lac of communication, is actually what made this understandable to more people than if it had a dedicated language.

@@jebcg I would love to see this as a full length feature or miniseries. You could probably make a fortune from a licensed toy line alone. I know my inner 7 year old would not let me rest until I had the whole collection. Maybe we can get a look at the "visitor's" biology and homewotld? And what's going on with the biomechanical spheres he or she produces? I'm guessing they have many functions other than acting as a cardiac pacemaker and EMP device. So many questions...but I want to know it all.

@@Sarakate601 I woudnt bet on anything regarding how we are in comparison with other civilizations, ailens. Like you said, we don't know, AND I know it's popular to be pessimistic about humans in this current time. BUT if I am to bet on something, I would not bet we are THE worst monsters out there, nor that we are THE saints. Because that would mean we are the statistically unlikely outliers. With our sample of one, that's unlikely. Just for example: Our closest cousins bonobos and (despite their reputation) chimpanzees and humans themselves don't make it on the top 30 list of mammals that murder their own kind the most. This is a list from extensive research, not buzz feed btw.(And that is not counting most other animals, like insects.) If we are not the most murderous species on earth, why assume we are that in the universe. Unless our planet is partially violent, which is possible, I suppose. Also, unfortunately, if you have heard of the Fermi paradox, it explains, that there might be a chance that intelligent species are actually usually quite self-destructive. Our monstrous nature may come more from the power we gain from our intelligence and the responsibility it gives us, that fail to live up to. Rather than that, we are some animal with an unusual lack of instinctive morals.
@anoukdevries8144

@@Sarakate601 Btw, the No 1 most murderous mammal is meerkat, if you're curious. You are almost 20% likely to be murdered (by your own kind) if you are a meerkat.

Wow, how incredibly well made with that animation outside and in that big kind of spaceship, and that combined with those cool sounds and music in the background! Not to mention made without a written script at all! And then you can only follow the storyline through the mimics depicted for all motions, movements and sounds of the various figures! For me this DUST SF SHORT FILM is not so much really exciting, but more funny! And that's also because of this funny looking alien, the weird kind of astronaut suits from that ANV angency team, and how that alien with many eyes ate that one ANV angency guy and then spit him out a bit later! HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! 😀😁😂🤣😜🤪🤫🤭 My compliments to the makers of this special, funny (weird in positive way!) DUST SF SHORT FILM!!!!! 🤩👍👏👩👽
