    Blake's Seven had a lot of sins: shoddy production values such as lame sets, costumes, props, cheesy effects, and so forth, but the reason I still like it is because the stories were good and the acting was spectacular. It goes all the way back to ancient Greece: a good story (with superb acting) is EVERYTHING.

    brilliant. works on several levels ... and now more relevant then ever!! a good chunk of my life folds into this story. standard of excellence in all aspects - writing, performance, and all the tech ... is absolutelty outstanding. kudos! two very minor crits: 1) her maydays at beginning would have a bit less of her name and a little more of the name of her ship, location etc ... makes her sound like kind of a megalomaniac in love with her own name.. 2) black hole time dilation would have been infinitely longer. like not decades but trillions of years..equipment on planet would have been dust. dunno if wormhole is similar or not.

  • @kevincrady2831

    @kevincrady2831

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@jv-lk7bc On that last bit, her pod had artificial gravity, and some kind of reactionless propulsion system (she was able to tinker with it by modifying parts within the ship). If her pod had been using conventional rocketry, she wouldn't have been able to try to enhance its chances of escaping by re-routing power or whatever she was doing. So, if her pod was generating its own effects on spacetime (an "antigravity" field, Alcubierre warp bubble or some such), then it probably would have counteracted some of the time dilation the wormhole would cause. This would also explain why her ship retained structural integrity instead of being stretched out into a strand of spaghetti. :) /nerd

    Hi William. This is one of the best films Dust has ever made. Stellar acting. Great story. Heart wrenching story. Being caught in the Gravity Well of a black hole would be nightmarish. Loved the humor and cursing. I knew right away when the guy said he didn't know what Jupiter is. Wormhole is the only possibility. That's how the grey's get here. Never seen her. Keep her. Give her more acting roles. Pay her well. She's wonderful. Can't wait for the next. PLEASE make a Part II of this. Cheers!

    one shot Hey there...I am 69 yrs "young" myself. I'm glad that other 'Distinguished Elders" are calling themselves 'young'...Bravo..!! And I absolutely agree with you: these DUST films are fantastic; I didn't know there were still people that could put out a high quality film anymore. Of course I am referring to almost everything that the cesspool called Hollywood has been putting out for many years now. Yea, occasionally a good one sneaks out but they are so rare these days. But every one of these DUST films that I have watched to date have ALL been top notch in every way. I have been a life long "gentle reader" of Asimov and also Clarke, Heinlein, Bradbury and many more serious science fiction writers so I think I have a good grasp of what a good story can be and DUST fills that requirement.

    Watching this was incredible. It stayed punchy and engaging throughout, the acting was solid, the set design was subtle and effective, the music was perfect, and of course... the writing. The story. The "double plot twists" that others here in the comments have mentioned. This story somehow takes us on an entire emotional journey with just two characters (who aren't even in the same room) and two small locations. Powerful and surprising. I hope we get to see more from these artists.

This had everything I was looking for, good acting, nice effects, very good story and more. I can't praise you enough on the work everyone did on this film. I hope to see this level of production on a larger film, god knows Hollywood needs all the help it can get to stop churning out crap.
