A popular device used for quotation and storytelling.
This began on the *chan imageboards, where quoting text places a Less or Greater than symbol in front of it, turning it green. This effect can also be done manually. Before long, this feature was put to innovative use. When quoting another post, greentext is frequently used for summary, criticism, and ridicule. Its other major use is storytelling, in which a lengthy story is told through fragmentary statements in greentext.
Greentext became highly popular for both of these functions due to its convenience. When quoting a post, it is easier to summarize than to respond in full. When telling a story, stringing together sentence fragments is a grammatically easier alternative to prose composition (it also makes for lighter reading).
This feature has become so widespread that it is sometimes used outside of imageboards (eg KZread comments).

That one's ending really got me, did not expect that.
Stick gets destroyed. Bigger stick. Lines of sticks. Sticky says hello. What in the hell are you doing? Hello. Um... Thats what we are doing.

Ithirid and if they shoot it down, make it out of metal. If they still shoot it down, make it armored or fast, or even both. If that doesn’t work send a hundred. If that doesn’t work send a thousand. If you are maxed out use tactics; If they get AOE’d, spread them out. If that doesn’t work, send them in a line so they shield each other. Do both if it doesn’t work. If that kind of works, make the sticks with internal angles to deflect penetrating weapons. Add explosive armor, shields, bullets that hit incomings. Add thrusters and evasive action..

Got to love some Betty Adams 🥳
I know it's an old trope to have an echo when reffering to "outer space", but I somehow feel compelled to point out that... 1. There are seldomly sparse surfaces off of which sound can bounce off of in the void of space. And... 2. There is no medium that can carry sound in the hard vacuum of space. As such it seems unlikely that any sound could exist to create echo in space... Which begs the question, are we to assume that the narrator is infact supposed to be within a voluminous pressurised walled vessel that is itself suspeneded in the hard vacuum void that is "outer space space space"?

@@AgroSquerril I have to admit that it does conjure up the enduring image of a seasoned British explorer, stowed away in an cavarbous alien cargo hold, slightly tipsy, from either the nytrogen narcosis brought on by exposure to the alien atmospher or the not insubstantial amount of gin consumed from his antique hip flask, whiling away the time by recanting the various tall tales, heard over the course his own misadventures through out the galaxy, into his journal.
