    The two green buttons do automatic downshifts. The upper one downshifts automatically 4 gears under braking, the bottom one downshifts 5 gears under braking.

    And they had a "drs" button of sorts as well, it'd change the suspension height to stall the rear wing while reducing the effectiveness of the front. What wild times

    @ThyMiguez Only brazilian claim that Benneton was a fantastic car. In every forum there is a Senna fan saying that Schumi beaten Senna many times in 92,93 and the whole 94 because Benneton was fantastic and etc. Not factual at all, some fan made that up to cover for Senna. Your previous comment is totally wrong imo. In Schumacher's lap(which seems to be from qualifying) he goes much faster in corners and use all the track. The Senna lap on youtube is probably from practice because it is slow

  • @beeDUB75

    That is Schumacher. In 1993 he changed his helmet design a little then reverted back to his original in 1994. You will notice that this lap is Qualifying or practise - it is much sunnier, some of the stands are half empty. Every gp weekend I've been to the cars always push harder on Friday and Saturday and there are so many more "offs" then. I think Shuey is probably just pushing harder. Remember he was the up and coming young gun then, 24 years old. Senna's lap was with him leading mid race.

    Electronics lowered the rear of the car in a straight line thus decreasing aerodynamics thus greater the speed in a straight line. Benetton in 93 also had 4wheel steer.

    Sounds like the car is automatically upshifting, too. Fully automatic shifting was also permitted in 1993, until all the driver aids were outlawed in 1994. The automatic downshift is essentially a pre-selected gear.

    MP4/8 was best McLaren chassis of that era, but after all the others McLaren where poor while benefiting from a super engine. unfortunately the chassis was not as good as Benetton B193 on aerodynamic side, so Benetton was better on fast tracks like Spa, Silverstone, Magny Cours, Hockenheim, Estoril. McLaren had a super Electronic package from Tag Electronics Inc. the final step for the ultimate three races was very good.

    Senna was extremely quick and at the same time his mistakes during a qualifying lap were so rare it's unbelievable. Schuey was extremely quick as well, but did not have that perfection. in fact, you saw him very often correct or going braking too late, losing the line etc.

    @arturcraft2 92-95 was the best yrs of Benneton. See the results since 86 fighting equally with Williams, Ferrari and Mclaren. Funny you say Schumi beat Senna like a prize, isnt? Senna's lap was 'so slow' that made the pole for Adelaide... Legends like Piquet and Bergher didn't have a competitive car like Shumi had. In his early yrs was a great promise, agressive and talented but he changed fast to a unfair prick. Even if he had 20 titles he never would be a true winner due his character

  • @ThyMiguez
    @ThyMiguez13 жыл бұрын

    See Ayrton doing the same lap... seems Senna is exploring MUCH MORE the limits of the car, his limits and the limits of the track. Senna is so mystic....a true unbeatable legend.

    Jenson is very good, but Schumacher is about 0.1% better than any other living(!) racing driver. 0.1% on a 2 minute lap: 0.12 sec. It's not much, but when done consistently with the right gear, it makes you 7 times world champion F1.

    @ThyMiguez I agree that Schumacher is a cheater but the lap onboard of Senna that we have here is not his 93 pole. There is a race onboard from Adelaide 93, and a slower(not his pole) onboard from qualifying and that's why it is so slow compared to this Schumacher lap. The problem is that you picked a non-fast Senna lap and said he was pushing the limits while it's exactly the opposite. I don't know who is better Schumi or Senna, I even think that Alonso, Kubica,Ham... may be on this level too.
