I love how you can hear the keys clacking and going down. As a clarinet player it makes it so much more fun to listen to because it feels like they're a real player even though you cant see them and makes it feel like I, too, can sound this wonderful and elegant

I listened to this piece and then something that was played by some music software, and I didn't like the other one nearly as much because it sounded weird without the key sounds. It's like the uncanny valley but for instruments.

Jetzt werde ich wohl meine Klarinette auspacken und mal wieder üben. In März habe ich ein Vorspiel für das Landesmusikorchester NRW. Das wird das Stück sein, was ich Vorspielen werde. Any instrument can sound horrible and any instrument can sound divine. What I tell my students :)

I am a beginner in clarinet. I plan on trying this piece, probably one octave below, where I start having kind of a bearable sound, as soon as my instrument is back from repair. In the meantime, I listen to it in a loop. And, to echo franciscoreyes' post, I will sure use it to put my granddaughter to sleep, as my singing abilities are even worse than my clarinet abilities. Hopefully, she will take an intereset in the instrument and some day play it as marvelously as it is played here.

The music shows D# as the middle note of each triplet, written as Eb. If you're referring to the last two notes however, they're both written as eighth notes.

Is this for a clarinet in b or b flat? At the top, it says b, but I dont know anyone who actually has a clarinet in b and I feel like it would be dumb for composers to write for a clarinet in that key

It's in German, and their B is an English B flat, so hopefully that clears up any confusion.
