Wow. That was great. Love hard use tests on Jess-X. To clarify, only thing that came from a Becker was the approximate SIZE of the blade. Everything else is completely different and it became a completely new type of tool. 1070 does the trick for being tough.

Mayor Fuglycool That other Schrade you broke... that's a low grade cheapo I wouldn't have even bothered doing that test on. Their 1070 is near unbreakable. Other stuff is a crapshoot on gross abuse tests like that. The old SCHF1/1SM is 1070 too. You won't break that in a million years (without shooting it). High powered guns are the only things that seem to be Able of killing them.

PREPAREDMIND101 I will see if I can find the older SCHF 1 's, that would be an interesting test. I have considered splitting bullets as the last test, but that is definitely going to void the warranty ;) 1070 is pretty strong, and to be honest was a good choice for your blade. Cool testing video! I would love to see a Condor knife (maybe the Solobolo or the Moonstalker) testet by you. The 1075 steel that Condor uses shoul be very tough and hold up. Thanks and keep up the good work!

This is review I have been waiting for. You give it real world urban, suburban, and probably rural survival situational testing. I have watched MANY reviews of Jessica X, but yours is the best for me. I'm buying one now and probably more in the future. You really can't beat that 1070 steel. That's one tough knife man. By far probably one of your best tests. I was surprised at how well it held up. I will have to consider getting one of these some time. FPS_Machete_[HD] If it's THIS kind of test, it won't survive. Tell you right now. These are fun to watch, but it's still gross abuse. Cutting/chopping/slicing it'll be fine. Only Schrades I'd do gross abuse tests on are 1070 ones.

So...I normally get knives that I know can take a beating, but I recently got a Buck 620 Reaper with a rosewood handle basically as a hip ornament. Would you ever do a Buck product destruction test so people will truly understand how far you can go with a more commonly available product in big box stores? I watched a few field tests of the knife I just got and face palmed as I watched them try to baton with it because it's only 420 HC and it has a hollow grind to boot. I think YOUR review of it could open some people's eyes to the reality of Buck Knives.

I would like to test smaller knives, but I have not found a testing method for them. Anything under 6" is pretty difficult for me to test, esp when the chopping and cinder tests come into play. I will work on a device to test the small knives :) Mayor Fuglycool
