Hi mam, it's nice & informative video.. Just want to know if all schools are "inclusive" by default (or) there are separate/specific schools offering "inclusive" setup? My son is 9 years old and he has speech/language delay and hence can't express everything in words (though he can speak & repeat all words, he can't form a sentence on his own). So I am trying to find if NZ schools are inclusive in nature (note that my son is 'not' a special or autistic kid, he just has speech delay)

Firstly welcome to NZ!! and end of year is a good time as schools just open from Feb. I think every child is different and the same will be their experiences. We moved in when my child was almost 4 and she got well settled with in few weeks. Now she says she likes it more here. If you can afford to spend $15,000 - $20,000, you can try getting her in to Private schools as well. its completely your choice

Hi! Not Vidya but Education is viewed as a human right in New Zealand, that includes special education. Some schools will have better staffing and resources so definetely look into local schools before picking a suburb to move to! Hope you have a lovely time in new Zealand and your child has an incredible experience learning. NZ is a really kind and accepting country and your child will do excellent :)

85% of your child’s education starts at home. If you think that the school is going to fix all of your child’s problems you are sadly mistaken. If you are going to have both parents working long hours and never be at home for your children, then you’re wasting you time coming to N.Z. The NZ education system is not the Ambulance at the bottom of a cliff’ fixing all poor families problems with broken kids.

Yes there is bullying in schools. But they will lie to you about it. Generally your children will congregate naturally towards their own’ socioeconomic/intellectual like-minded kids. If your child is well rounded, nice, intelligent then they will find there way ok.
